Say what? A democrat wants authorization for Military force? Not likely but otherwise you almost gotta laugh. Everything including hurricane Katrina was blamed on president Bush but now the idiot prog left manages to convince themselves that poor Barry Hussein is powerless and out of the picture. I wish it was so.

No one blamed Bush for hurricane Katrina. One of the more stupid statements. But they did blame him for what happened after, dunce. Obama received kudos even from Republicans after Sandy. And with good reason. Good Job Brownie!

The debacle that followed Katrina was never about Bush...he was just the scapegoat that you liberals blamed instead of admitting that the problem was created by Democratic leaders in New Orleans siphoning off billions of Federal dollars to fix the levees of that city...a Democratic Mayor who didn't evacuate as a class 5 hurricane bore down on a city that sits below sea level...and a Democratic Governor that wouldn't relinquish control of the emergency response because she didn't want to appear "weak".

Compare what happened in New Orleans with what happened in GOP run States with other major storms...

Was FEMA slow at playing catch-up with what those two idiot Democrats presented to them? Heck yes they were but anyone that's gone through big storms and their aftermath knows that FEMA doesn't move quickly and that you need to provide for yourself locally until they do. Blaming the deaths in New Orleans on W. is ridiculous. Nagin and Blanco should have ALWAYS gotten the bulk of the blame for what happened in New Orleans.

No, what I'm saying is that the bulk of the blame should rest squarely on the shoulders of the locals who prepared so badly for the hurricane in the first place! If you live in hurricane prone areas then you're told over and over and OVER AGAIN...to be prepared in the event of a storm. You're told to evacuate if you're in the path of a big storm. You're told that if you DO stay that you should have enough food, water and other emergency items to allow yourself to survive for a minimum of five days because it's going to take that long or longer for help to get there from the outside if it's been a big storm! You have to only look at things like thousands of New Orleans school buses being destroyed by the flood waters because they sat in empty lots inside of the city while at the same time thousands of citizens who needed to be evacuated didn't have the means. A Mayor with half a brain would have gotten those people out of New Orleans by using the city school buses which would have then been out of harm's way. But Ray Nagin didn't do that! Nagin didn't do much of anything. Except point fingers when it was time to place the blame.

Compare how New Orleans reacted to that storm with the reactions of other cities in the path of even bigger storms and it's quickly apparent that the fault lay less with FEMA's response than it did with the leadership of locals.

Or have you conveniently forgotten that Nagin ended up going to prison with a ten year sentence for taking hundreds of thousands of dollars in bribes both before and after Katrina?
