Conservatives push for end of "no fault" divorce

I believe mid 30s is now the best time to get married. Money saved by both spouses sets up security. Much less chance of divorce. No downsides.
It's different for men and women.

It's better for women to get married early, as they have all the cards when they are young, at their peak physically, and haven't become disgruntled with tons of baggage and sexual partners (lots of sex effects men and women differently)

Men usually have establish themselves financially and with status... they don't have much to offer when they're very young. That's why men peak in their 30's, women peak from 18-24 (as far as what they have to offer to the opposite sex to get the person they want)

That's why you're seeing a ton of women in their mid-late 30's unable to get a proposal from the type of man they want. The men they want aren't looking for them, they're looking younger.

And does any of this matter? Answer? Nope. Is it the nation's business? Nope.

Divorce is a necessary option in an unhappy marriage. Case closed.
Only in abusive situations. Other than that... grow up.

This is why no fault divorce would be good. It would force people to take marriage seriously, not just some fad.

Or don't get married in the first place. I agree in the sense that more people will not be getting married with no fault. Less divorce. No downside.

Funny thing happened in the 70s

No fault divorce and more job opportunities for women led to a rush to divorce

You had to be there
That is when the real economic growth of the nation started to decline. Taxers increase massively from then. Including state, local and city governments. We went from a creditor nation to a debtor one. So, if you consider women beasts of burden now, we let foreign slaves produce our products for American women to get what they got. And they were spoiled before it. I have typed many posts on things we do not pay attention to. Well, it is part of what we have become. The East Asians are slowly building their nations into powerful ones. Sme have a way to go. Frankly, our nation is in the way as we live off the past and are sloven pigs compared to them. When Asians take over, they will not show much mercy to us.

Well adjusted kids, to start with.

Study after study shows children do better when both parents are in the homose.
Of course not. If both parties are committed ways to providing a well adjusted home they will get well adjusted children. If the parents constantly fight and the home is in chaos, they won't. Children from homes with a lot of violence will sometimes kill a parent. They will run away, act out with others. To have well adjusted children the environment must be well adjusted. Even if the parents are gritting their teeth faking it.

This seems a gift to domestic abusers. I can only see it as a desire to take society back to a pre civilised age.
Message to failed husbands and wives. Once its over its over. You waste your time trying to turn the tide.

Well, first of all, many conservatives do not support ending no-fault divorces. Many do, but many don't.

Anyway, I strongly disagree with those conservatives who want to end no-fault divorces. Their motives are noble--but unrealistic in too many cases. I understand that they want to encourage troubled married couples to work things out, especially when children are involved. But that is just not realistic or practical in many cases, if not most cases.

As a matter of basic principle, if a married couple want to get a divorce, the government has no business imposing waiting periods or other restrictions. For better or for worse, this should be left up to the couples themselves.

Textbook example of how to tell the whole board you are a misogynist, without using the word.

Well done.

No you fucking retarded asshole, no fault divorce is yet another tool for the take down of the nuclear family by you asshole Marxist insects.
A virtual cog in the feminist movement.

You might check divorce rates in Asia before you spout off.

Divorce rates in the Arab world have been increasing for decades, even as they have been declining in the West. As of September 2022, some of the highest divorce rates in the Arab world were:
Kuwait: 48%
Egypt: 40%
Jordan: 37.2%
Qatar: 37%
Lebanon and the United Arab Emirates: 34%

Because there are very solid reasons for making it a little more difficult, (but not impossible) to divorce, especially when children are involved. Maybe we should make the marriage contract stronger, spelling out details of how to dissolve it should that become necessary. Every contract spells out how it can be dissolved and who walks away with what should it happen. Marriage is a contract, so if we're not going to assume it's for life anymore, pre-nups need to be a lot more common.

The contract is between consenting adults. The state isn't party to the marriage.
