Copycat Walmart Shooter Stopped by Man with a Gun

Alaska allows open carry. Do I carry? Of don't I? No one will know unless they prove themselves worthy of finding out.
But...that's not open carry...that's concealed carry.
That's correct. Also legal in this state, except at certain government buildings. Better to have and not need than to need an not have. And if it's concealed, you are less likely to become a target for some teeny-dick lefty trying to make a point about gun control.

Someone who is openly carrying only turns into a mass murderer when they start shooting people.

It's impossible to determine if this guy was a psychopath or a "good guy with a gun".

He puts on fatigues and body armor, walks into a Walmart with tactical weapons and a 100 rounds of ammunition and you can’t tell if he is a good guy or a bad guy? Are you joking?

Just curious here, but which of those acts are illegal?
This question is so idiotic I can't see straight. Don't you people get it? Legal or not, everyone is running for the exits when they see someone like that because they don't know. Nor will they ever know.

I don't support people needing to open carry with enough firepower to take out a small army. I think that's ridiculous.

All I'm saying is that under their state law, what he did doesn't appear to be illegal.

Under their state Stand-your-ground law, if someone felt sufficiently threatened by him, they could tap-tap him. Sure, they'd have to defend their decision afterwards, but a good lawyer would probably get them off.

He wasn't shooting anyone.

Probably just one of your open carry idiots.

The other side of the coin is what I perceive! We agree Crep! Strange things happen everyday I guess :11_2_1043:
This is a wierd thread. The usual gun nuts all want this kid to be a mass shooter because they want the "good guy with a gun" narrative.

If the open carry kid had just walked in and out or surrendered to police or goD forbid gotten killed by cops they would all be on his side.

No
People have brains enough to understand that someone wearing fatigues, body armor and carrying 100 rounds with him is not a normal person. You are trying to create a narrative that he is just some average guy.
He is not.
Can't disagree. The fatigues is normal in redneckvile tho.

100 rounds of ammo and body armor says this guy is 20 cigarettes short of a full pack.

Why did they arrest him? You arrest good guys?

They charged him for indicating a threat.
Thank you! Which is why open carry of automatic weapons in a place of business is total insanity. The logic against that is inarguable.

Which isn't what happened here.
It doesn't fucking matter. My God, how can you people be this stupid? What if it happens tomorrow? Do you know that it won't,while you and your family go shopping in there? Just ask the kids in Walmart in El paso who's parents are dead while they went in there to shop for party favors, what their opinions are about someone walking again in Walmart dressed for mass killing? Have you people lost your friggin minds?

Your rant has nothing at all to do with anything I've argued. If you have a valid argument you also do not have to simply make things up to argue it.
Boss, understand one thing. To promote a man or woman walking through the Walmart parking lot with an automatic weapon, a hundred rounds of ammunition, and a bullet proof vest, and you are okay with that person walking into Walmart, you are person who is not in possession of a functioning brain. Legal or illegal!

This isn't about a rant. It's about those people who think this is okay, and left their brains behind. We obviously let the guy in El paso enter the Walmart, and 22 people were killed. What if the same thing had happened in Walmart in Missouri? No one with a functioning brain would encourage someone to walk into the Walmart in Missouri like that.

Here's what he was charged with:

574.115. Making a terrorist threat, first degree — penalty. — 1. A person commits the offense of making a terrorist threat in the first degree if such person, with the purpose of frightening ten or more people or causing the evacuation, quarantine or closure of any portion of a building, inhabitable structure, place of assembly or facility of transportation, knowingly:
Terms Used In Missouri Laws 574.115

(1) Communicates an express or implied threat to cause an incident or condition involving danger to life; or

(2) Communicates a false report of an incident or condition involving danger to life; or

(3) Causes a false belief or fear that an incident has occurred or that a condition exists involving danger to life.

2. The offense of making a terrorist threat in the first degree is a class D felony.

3. No offense is committed under this section by a person acting in good faith with the purpose to prevent harm.

They're going with (3). I'm not a lawyer, but I think he has a really strong case against this.

Dumb example: Let's suppose that I'm driving 5 miles under the speed limit. I'm doing things within the restrictions of the law. But for some inexplicable reason, the speed that I'm traveling at causes people to panic and fear for their lives. Am I, the law-abiding citizen, responsible for the irrational fears that other people have while I'm within the boundaries of the law? Did I cause people to fear for their lives or are they just irrationally reacting to something that is perfectly legal?

Proving you are a moronic troll. Later in the thread I agreed with X, however that wouldn’t fit into your bigotry.
My point is, no one with a functioning brain would support these actions in lieu of what happened in El paso. Period!

That might be a hard sell if he's not brandishing his weapon, as I suspect the surveillance cameras will show.

Well the attention whore got the attention
From the fireman’s side-better to ask for forgiveness than body bags.
I can stand naked in front of my picture window and it’s not illegal until some one sees me. Kinda the same thing here.

I wasn't targeting you. I was using your post to make an example, that while it is legal, it is the dumbest legal maneuver this country has ever put on the books. Whoever or whomever wrote this into law is either totally retarded, or they are terrorists. Because that is exactly what that law does. It gas lights terrorism by legally being able to walk into these places of business and the element of surprise is totally protected, but the people are not. It leaves them totally vulnerable.

I agree it's a dumb law.

And I'm surprised to see conservatives against this. I thought this is what they wanted - people to be armed to the teeth in public places. This sure as hell wasn't a liberal policy.

Maybe. I think it wouldn't be that hard, in the aftermath of the Walmart massacre in El Paso. The fictional shooter only has to convince a jury he had a reasonable fear.

Just happened to be an off duty fireman who saved who knows how many lives.

Off-duty firefighter stops man armed with 100 rounds of ammunition at south Springfield Walmart
Depending on state law I saw no reason why he should have been detained by police. He went and got a shopping cart to shop. In my state it's not illegal to open carry an AR nor is it illegal to wear armor.
OM friggin G! People, can you believe this shit? "He went and got a shopping cart?" :auiqs.jpg::auiqs.jpg::auiqs.jpg:And that's it people. When you see the guy walking through the parking lot with an automatic weapon and bullet proof vest we have to wait to see what happens when he comes in. Does he grab a shopping cart, or does he raise his gun? :auiqs.jpg::auiqs.jpg::auiqs.jpg:There's only one good thing we can get out of this from this poster. "Real stupidity" is a real thing.
OMG if he was going to shoot anyone he would not have gotten a shopping cart. What are the gun law and armor plate carrier laws of his state? but of course, a gun nazi like you will see anything with a gun as wrong regardless what the laws are

Like I said before, a middle grade school child can deduce the absurdity of such a law, because the law makes no sense. It goes against all laws of deductive reasoning. To not see it for how I explained it, is to be totally brainless. There exists no logical/intelligent reason for allowing a man or woman to get out of a Walmart parking lot, packing as if they were preparing for war, and all the excuse one of them gave, was that he grabbed a shopping cart. Can you believe that was the excuse? These people live in Zombie land.
