Could all Religions Come Together?

go to church
give your money to the church
and you get...

Not salvation. I promise you that.
Were you under the impression that salvation is something you pick up at church, similar to picking up food at the grocery store? Were you under the impression that salvation is something that is laid on you?

So YOU'RE saying that a book
Interpreted from Latin
That is supposed to be the exact words
Written in Latin 200 years after the events they claim to document
of people who spoke Hebrew, not Latin
Is the "word of God?"

And you've the nerve to call ANYONE ignorant?

You clearly display the certainty and stupidity of the ignorant.

Don't forget the latest book of the Bible

God's latest kid.
None of us know how accurate the translations are. Believe whatever makes you comfortable, why don't you want others to do that?

Still, we can delve into the theme and what the original author was conveying--not to us--but to his original audience. It helps to know something of that time, history, and culture.

I am sorry you misunderstood--or very, very sorry the concept is impossible for you to grasp. Do you remember learning about themes in school?
WORD OF GOD

it is or it isn't
unless, of course, you're claiming the Bible is a high school English project.

it is or it isn't
Humans wrote the Bible. Their inspiration was from God, their sense of God working in our midst.

Are you one who believes God, Himself, either wrote or dictated the Bible? If so, hate to break it to you, but most of us already know that men wrote the Bible.

In fact, proselytizing is not required. As St. Francis was to have reportedly said, "Proclaim the Gospel always. If necessary, use words."

The Body of Christ is a family, and currently the family is not getting along as well as it could. It is possible to live and let live and still practice understanding and unity in Christ. That merely means giving up the bickering.
You seem somewhat unfamiliar with your bible.

"In the New Testament, God clearly commissioned some to preach the gospel of God's Kingdom actively. Paul received such a commission, as Acts 9:15 clearly relates. Christ also commissioned His other apostles to "go therefore and make disciples of all the nations . . ." (Matthew 28:19). These commissions have their parallel in the commissions received by the Old Testament prophets. Examples include the prophets Isaiah (Isaiah 6), Jeremiah (Jeremiah 1) and Jonah (Jonah 1)."

There is a Buddhist or two in my family. I know the reasons for what they believe. If you would like to share yours, I am happy to listen.

1. I see you enjoy believing God is a murderer. Why is that?
2. Are you aware that the Book of Job is a play that addresses the age old question of why bad things happen to good people? Job is either a fictional character, or perhaps more likely, a conglomerate of several good people to whom bad things happened. (Look at the opening lines of the Book. It is still obvious it is a play.)
Buddhism is truth. I am "commanded" to seek the truth for myself and to believe nothing whose truth i cannot demonstrate.

I don't claim god is a murderer. Your bible does. Unless, of course, the Bible is not true.
Job? Once again you admit the bible is not true.

AND

You fail to address why any such entity as described in the Bible is worthy of worship.

Christ also commissioned His other apostles to "go therefore and make disciples of all the nations . . ."
And you take this to mean to make disciples even when it is against their will? To be a nuisance? In picking cherries, it is often wise to take note of the branches--or the entire picture. Read up on what Christ taught and how he taught.

showing the way through actions is not forcing anything on anyone. You can accept or reject.

Not the way you read/interpret it. No worries. Many people read it in English through the lens of modern Western socieity.

I said "live and let live."

How ,any times have Christians forbid the placement of Islamic Temples in their communities?
How many Christian groups travel the world trying to convert people?

Seems you're the ones denying people the right to worship as they wish.

you are free to practice Buddhism if that is what you believe. The first amendment applies to all religions in the USA, not so in muslim countries or socialist dictatorships. Which do you think is better?

So none of the books of the Bible are in fact accurate representations history and are simply fairy tales made up to frighten the ignorant

Now we're getting somewhere.

hmmm, how many Christian churches are there in Saudi Arabia and Iraq? Teaching the Bible in Saudi will get you beheaded. Muslim tolerance???????????????? I think not.

There are mosques in every American community, and yes they have to get building permits like any other religious organization.

you are free to say and believe that, we are free to disagree with you. The first amendment applies to all of us.

You fail to address why any such entity as described in the Bible is worthy of worship.
It is your entity based on how you perceive the Bible. Why worship something of your own imagining? Look. You say you find truth in Buddhism, so stay with it. As long as you are satisfied with such a very shallow interpretation of the Bible it holds nothing for you except shadow boxing. Bible study takes a huge amount of time and even more effort. It's not for everyone.

Crusades, South America, Philippines...

All converted by the convert o die method including introducing smallpox into hesitant communities,
