I will repeat my pretty simple question:
What is it about the AR platform that makes it the weapon of choice for mass shooters?
If it is no different than any other rifle on the market, why do they choose it and why are people so bent out of shape about the possibility of needing to buy one of these "equal" rifles.
I got one answer, saying the AR is built to take any number of add ons, adapting it to any need. So what specific need do mass shooters have and what add on do they use that makes it the weapon of choice for them? What "adaptations" are they talking about?

Age discrimination is legal for PA's in my State, but even in States where it is not, majority is the limit, below which you can be discriminated against.
Also you can be discriminated against for products that are banned for your age, such as alcohol everywhere, and tobacco in some places when you are under 21, but above 18.

Wrong again. The M-16 was designed for light-weight engagements with armed enemies in the 100 to 500 yard range. It was designed around the 5.56 cartridge, rather than the bigger, heavier, less-survivable 7.62 cartridge.

It was designed to injure, not kill, because it is part of the Geneva Conventions, and because Injured soldiers are not only incapacitated, but they require the attention of other soldiers.

Why Colt decided to make a civilian knock off and market it to the public is beyond me.

Demand. Only demand. We the people wanted the very useful and versatile platform.

Dude, I agree that the NRA and manufacturere/sellers benefit from mass shootings, but it is not because of the shootings themselves. It is the gun-grabbing rhetoric from the left that causes people to fear a ban and desire to buy before the ban takes effect.
