I really think if a douche like Al Gore hadn't shined the light on it, the US would be on board. It should have been independent scientists that came forward on this issue. Of course then Americans would just ignore it because they are willfully ignorant.

You act as though just because the scientific community can't fully understand it that somehow undermines the integrity of the idea. It doesn't. Plus, it isn't about "warming". Well, what was it in the past when we had actual declines in temperature, and for longer than five years?

At present, we have the aerosols being put out by India and China. We have a decline in the TSI of the sun. And several strong La Nina's since 1998. Yet we have matched 1998 twice, 2005, 2010.

What could it be that we have not seen a decline in the temperature? And what could it be that we are seeing the Arctic Ice continue to disappear, as well as the alpine glaciers?

The GOP has backed itself into a corner, backing the deniers of science and reality.

Scientific consensus is built by research availing dissent and independent scientists doing their own research. It isn't based on statements or side-taking, which is the problem a lot of people don't get with global warming.

The scientific community can be heavily biased...ask any tenured college professor how "objective" the standards are and they'll probably laugh at you. It's highly politicized.

As for Al Gore, I might be alone in this, but it really seems like global warming became Al Gore's white whale after losing the 2000 election. I know he was more or less in agreement with global warming in the 90s, but he wasn't Mr. Global Warming until he was about to be relegated to the has-been pile and dust bin of history. It almost seems like the world wanted to give him his fifteen minutes because they felt he unfairly lost the election. He didn't win the Presidency, but he did get an Oscar and a Noble Peace Prize. Not to mention the goo-gobs of money he's made.

I do not believe in the myth of evolution. The computer was CREATED by the power of the human mind as allowed by God for man to do. The computer did not evolve on its own from a lone computer chip that was struck by lightening millions and millions of years ago. You cannot see that the telegraph repeater didn't change into a phonogrph, into a gramophone, into orthophonic sound, into hi fidelity, into stereo electronics. Each was a specific creation (though a progression of knowledge). God knows it all.

Oh my, here we go again. Every time there is a pause or slight downturn in the warming, these idiots start hollering that GHGs don't really warm the atmosphere. But as soon at the temperture climbs to new highs, it is all about natural cycles, even though they cannot name these cycles.

Every Scientific Society in the world, every National Academy of Science, and every major University states that AGW is a fact, and that it represents a clear and present danger. Irregardless of the political systems of the nation the Scientific Society, National Academy of Science, or University is based in. So, are you denialists positing a worldwide conspiracy of scientists to mislead us? Are you saying that the scientists worldwide are incompetant? What is it that you are stating?

When named, Glacier National Park had over 150 glaciers. Today, it has less than 30. By 2030, it will have none. It was predicted by these 'Alarmists' in 2000 that the Arctic Ocean would be ice free part for part the summer by 2100. Now we are looking at the distinct possibility that it will be ice free by 2020, possibly sooner. Yet those living in the 'Conservative' alternative reality are still stating that nothing is happening.

What Al Gore did was to put the words of the scientists into layman's terms. He did it well, and earned even more enmity from the 'Conservatives'.

The skeptics have been saying we can't draw any conclusions because of a hundred years of increasing temps, but now we're supposed to draw a conclusion because of the last 5?!?! Why are natural variations only invoked when it's convenient for the skeptics/deniers? In any complex system of this sort there are going to be lulls. The bottom line is, if we keep putting more CO@ and other GHGs into the atmosphere in days than all the volcanoes on earth do in a normal year, the overall trend can only be up.
