Donald Trump's BRILLIANT & Unusual Plan to Lower the National Debt

Yeah, let's pave over Arlington cemetary and turn it into condos !

Trumps stupid wall will waste more money than he can generate by selling off out national treasures .

Are you trying to be stupid or does such stupid posts come automatically? Who said anything about selling national treasures other than you?

That's what this Thread is about right? Selling off national assets .

But youre so smart . Explain to me trumps plan to build a 1200 mile wall, increase the military, invade the mid east , and start trade wars wh the rest of the planet . How is that gonna be paid ? By selling off post office buildings ? By the way, ain't the post office on its own?

Ask a Trump supporter about the wall.

Again, where did anyone say that he was selling national treasures, you are an idiot.

I don't support Trump but at least I'm smart enough to know that he won't sell a cemetery, the Statue of Liberty or the Grand Canyon, you are being stupid.

Trump will turn the Statue of Liberty into a casino......just watch

Sell Off 19 Trillion In Government Assets

Didn't Trump recently buy that huge Wash. D.C. Post Office and change it into the most luxurious hotel in D.C.? Why YES, HE DID!!!!!

As president, Donald Trump would sell off $16 trillion worth of U.S. government assets in order to fulfill his pledge to eliminate the national debt in eight years, senior adviser with the campaign Barry Bennett said. "The United States government owns more real estate than anybody else, more land than anybody else, more energy than anybody else," Bennett told Chris Jansing Sunday on MSNBC. "We can get rid of government buildings we're not using, we can extract the energy from government lands, we can do all kinds of things to extract value from the assets that we hold." In a...

Sell to whom?

Trump is trying to win by using common sense. He must be stopped at any cost!!

looks like another trump loon

You have to factor in the massive loss of revenue that Trump's absurd tax cuts will produce.

Trump makes Herman Cain's 9 9 9 plan look brilliant.

Fact of the matter is you're at the point where out of the box solutions are necessary ......clear Congress won't deal with it........and Bernie a d hilly have no plan

What other candidate would come up with innovative ideas like that (or even CARE about reducing the debt for that matter)?

Any other who's out of his fucking mind.
Your idea of sanity is to keep repeating the same process of borrowing and spending and expecting a different outcome. If I'm not mistaken, that's the definition of insanity.

You're referring to Trump's standard issue Republican insanity of cutting taxes and thinking that will balance the budget?

This idea has been tossed around in the past. It falls off the tracks when the "assets" that would be sold have to be determined. Without suggesting the "assets in detail, it's just a proposal with no substance.

It's a simple lack of understanding of how much 18 trillion dollars is.

More buildings paying taxes instead of being dead weight.....oooops

Buildings pay taxes…. is that one of those Romney “Corporations are people” arguments?

Seriously dude…you can’t be this ignorant on the way it works.

If someone buys the buildings, they’ll pay taxes on them. Of course with office space at zero demand in most cities….buying a 1975 government building will be high on developer’s to-do lists. NOT

Lot of of old commercial buildings being turned into high end condos and such......zero demand for office space????? here I thought the economy was roaring along......libs told me so

Ahh…we’re to the point where conservatives stop debating with data and begin arguing with anecdotes. Happens every time.

You had no data, yet you are assuming the worst. Yet you don't know.

Depending on where and when their could be a strong demand for property. I'd have to look closer at what his plan really entails, but that won't happen, campaigns are words and glitter. You don't need substance, your messiah proved that.

I do not make the laws of economics but we all do live by them. Greater supply means lower costs unless you have inelastic demand. We used to have our offices in a building that had 70% occupancy max. We built our own campus finally so it’s no longer a big deal except for the service pads.

Trump may as well sell the Constitution

Republicans only care about the second amendment anyway

How much will Trump get for the Statue of Liberty?
Grand Canyon will pull a pretty penny
Yes of course assume the absurd.........why listen to sane policy initiative......

Trump is talking about paying off $19 trillion in debt. You are not going to get there by selling off some Post Office in Buttfuck South Dakota. If he wants to pay off the debt, he will have to sell valuable assets not just crap land nobody cares about

What are our valuable assets?
Statue of Liberty
Grand Canyon
Lincoln Memorial
Constitution and Declaration of Independence

What we can expect from a Trump Presidency
