Elections deniers could be the death of our democracy

The MAGA repubs are now bringing destruction of our democracy to our doorstep. Denying elections is a step towards authoritarianism.

US democracy is pretty rubbish right now anyway. The reason the country is going crazy is because people don't have much of a choice when they vote. Rep or Dem, Dem or Rep. Not a choice.

That you deny that Trump was the ONLY one to testify against Epstein just shows how stupid you are moron.

Debunked your shit and made you look stupid inside of 30 seconds. Cry some more.

Candy has no shame, no honor, no morals, and no honesty.

It is a fascist troll.

Says the clown flying a foreign flag for his avatar... Lol!

Once the demented LEFT start throwing the word "deniers" around, you KNOW they are full of SHIT!
Election "deniers".
Climate "deniers".
"Vaccine" "deniers".
If you don't go along with their corruption, you are labeled a "denier".

A little exchange from yesterday. This is what misguided, manipulated rage does to these people:

It's our own fault. We're allowing our political/electoral "system" (ha) to continue unchanged, and it's spitting out awful, craven candidates, and maintaining shitty parties, who are slaves to their crazed bases. Because that's what our "system" (ha) rewards.

We can tell you who the Kardashian™ girls are banging or who won on Survivor™, but we don't give two shits about fixing this disaster. That's on us.

Yes, but then maybe the people have never really had the power in the first place. You're told how great democracy is in the USA, without anyone really asking if there was any in this first place.

Well, I think even in Germany 95% of people don't give a shit. However they've seen really bad times and had good people who made those changes. But you're not wrong, it is a mentality of the nation thing too.

A little history for libs to chew on

The voting machines that the public does noe trust are a direct result of Florida 2000 when large numbers of democrat voters proved they were too stupid to fill out a paper ballot correctly

Then 20 years later libs were able to add no questions asked absentee ballots to their cheating tool kit and steal an election

Trump is calling for a return to paper ballots

And I’m demanding no absentee voting under any circumstances

Only then will whoever loses an election have to accept the results

And the other 8,000 losers on election day accepted their loss with a modicum of dignity and grace. But we're supposed to chunk a system because one orange blob is whining about his losing?

Nope.

The Orange Insurrectionist has revealed just how fragile our democracy is. That it relies, in many instances, on good faith, trust, and that while we have our differences, no party leader would ever instigate an attempted coup. That when someone loses an election he/she concedes gracefully.
The Founders never contemplated a rogue traitor like Trump reaching the pinnacle of power. Or the damage someone like him could do. In recognition of the danger he poses we need to take action. Much more action than reforming the way the electoral count could be corrupted. We need........

Repairing the Rule of Law: An Agenda for Post-Trump Reform

As the U.S. begins to see the light at the end of the Trumpian tunnel, it is time to begin thinking about the issue of repair. One should not assume the result of the election, but it is nonetheless worth asking the question: What should be done in a post-Trump world to restore the rule of law?

Of Trump’s many excesses, his assault on legal norms has to rank high in terms of damage to fundamental values that form the fabric of America. His attacks on the free press, the independent judiciary and the independence of the Department of Justice have all created significant damage. His abuse of executive discretionary authority has made a mockery of the concept of checks and balances. His gaming of the judicial system has revealed weaknesses in our legal process. His attempts to place himself (and his family and his business interests) above the law have called into question foundational national conceptions of equal justice. In short, President Trump has led a wrecking crew (aided and abetted by William Barr and Mitch McConnell) that has severely damaged American legal norms of behavior.

Trump’s attacks on foundational norms and principles leave policymakers with two choices. Lawmakers and voters can accept that damage and admit the inevitability of American decline, or they can fight to restore and strengthen the country’s legal guardrails. This post is an effort to begin that fight—to identify practical steps that the country can take to reinvigorate the rule of law and the concept of checks and balances.

Where were you during 2020 election night?

Did you put out the press release in Atlanta of a water main leak?

Did you supervise the "removal" of GOP observers in DET?

Or were you convincing Tucker Carlson to accept the Steal?
