Examples of why you can't tust Liberals with "reasonable" gun control

The point to ending gun free zones.....the shooters will then leave them alone.....they don't want to encounter people shooting back.....the research shows this....once confronted, they commit suicide, or they surrender or are shot by the good guys with guns.....

There are several examples of killers who left memos or who were caught before the shooting who made it clear they were going to avoid places where people had guns...

The neat thing about people carrying guns for self defense....they contribute to the general safety because criminals don't know who the armed victims are....so they go after property crimes instead of personal interaction with victims.....

This is what happens when good people carry guns...even into restricted gun free zones....

they save lives...especially their own....

BREAKING Armed PA Doctor Shoots And Stops Killer In Gun Free Zone Doctor May Lose Job Concealed Nation

A Pennsylvania Doctor who was at work this afternoon, found himself staring down the barrel of a mentally ill man’s gun who was a patient at the same hospital. The shooting occurred at the Wellness Center on the Mercy Fitzgerald Hospital campus. The suspect exchanged gunfire with the Doctor, who luckily ignored the “Gun Free Zone” signs at the door. Had he not, he may have found himself in the morgue tonight.

At a 6 p.m. press conference, Delaware County DA Jack Whelan identified Richard Plotts of Upper Darby as the suspect. Whelan says Plotts, who was a patient, arrived at the Wellness Center shortly after 2 p.m. with his case worker.

Plotts along with his case worker went into the doctor’s office. A worker confirms he heard loud arguing at the time and walked into the office where he saw the suspect pointing a gun at the doctor. The worker did not notice the case worker in the office when he opened the door. According to Whelan, the worker quietly closed the door and called 9-1-1.

Police believe there was a gunfire exchange between the doctor and suspect. According to Whelan, two guns were retrieved from the scene. The suspect did have psychiatric issues and was a patient, according Whelan. Whelan also says various employees wrestled suspect to the ground.

A female in the building was killed, and two others were injured by the suspect. The suspect himself was shot multiple times in the torso, presumably by the Doctor.

Luckily, the Doctor was carrying a firearm with him at the time of this incident. It was noted that the hospital campus is a Gun Free Zone, so it seems clear that the Doctor did not obey the posted signs. Whether that’s illegal or not in PA, we aren’t sure. What we do know however, is that the Doctor is going home to his family tonight.

Sounds like a good case where you would want the shooter to not have a hi cap magazine. I bet the doctor didn't.

Why would you bet the doctor didn't...the only Glock with a low capacity is the Glock 42 and that is a new, single stack .380....the killer may have had a revolver....

You might be right, and most concealed carry guns hold less than 10 rounds. So you would be helping the good guy out with a limit.

Don't forget the guy who tried to stop the vegas cop killer at walmart. He was the only one they killed. All the stories aren't good.

No, never said all defensive gun uses end with the good guy the winner....but we know that all mass shootings in gun free zones end with a lot of dead innocent people....because no one is there to stop them....and the more "gun free" the more dead innocent people...the worst mass shootings in history....Norway and South Korea.....and bad ones happened in Britain even after the confiscation of guns....as recently as 2010....

In absolute gun controlled Britain...the Cumbria mass shooting in 2010...the guy wanted to kill, and he got the gun to do it with...killed 12 people.....post gun confiscation....

Cumbria shootings - Wikipedia the free encyclopedia

The Cumbria shootings was a killing spree that occurred on 2 June 2010 when a lone gunman, Derrick Bird, killed 12 people and injured 11 others before killing himself inCumbria, England.

The more gun free a country...the more dead innocents in mass shootings....

Brain...just tonight...5 stories where the victims used more than 2 bullets in a gun fight.....

the PA. Doctor...shot the guy 3 times to stop him....
3 stories from Masaad ayoob's testimony at the Colorado hearings...in fact, in one story...17-19 shots had to be fired from multiple guns...instead of just one gun....for the defender...not the multiple attackers....

http://extras.mnginteractive.com/li..._032508_062614-Krieger-Opinion-Outfitters.pdf

The first incident involved a gun shop owner who lived next door to the shop. One night, carloads of people drove through his storefront to steal guns. In defending his property, the shop owner used a fully automatic M-16 and a fully automatic 9mm submachine gun to fire over 100 rounds. One perpetrator was killed, others were injured, and all were captured and convicted. The second incident involved a man who owned a watch shop in Los Angeles and who had been involved in a series of “gun fights.” (Presumably, he had been robbed repeatedly.) The shop owner began keeping multiple pistols hidden in his shop. Mr. Ayoob recalled that at least one of the gun fights “went beyond” 17 or 19 shots before the last of the multiple perpetrators was down or had fled. The third incident involved a Virginia jewelry store that was robbed by “two old gangster type guys.” The two brothers who owned the store successfully defended themselves and their property using multiple revolvers (not semiautomatic weapons) that were kept behind the counter. Mr. Ayoob did not specify how many rounds were fired in that incident.

and this one....

Enemy Within The Jim Patterson Incident American Handgunner

The Investigation

Marty Reece had one thing right that night: he was going to die. Autopsy showed he had sustained five through-and-through gunshot wounds. He had been hit once in the right upper arm, with the bullet reentering the chest and piercing lung, liver and diaphragm, exiting the lower chest on the opposite side. Another bullet had gone side-to-side through the intestines. One slug had gone back to front, cutting a major vessel that brings blood back to the heart, the inferior vena cava. Two more 230-grain FMJ projectiles had entered the back, cutting the spinal cord and exiting through the front of the torso. Gunshot residue on the body was indicative of close-range shooting.

and this shooting...with 5 shots fired to stop the guy....police ruled it a justifiable homicide.....but.....it was taken over and they were prosecuted anyway....

Enemy Within The Jim Patterson Incident American Handgunner

It appears in the aftermath the Sheriff’s Department determined it was a justifiable homicide. However, the town marshal’s office in Noel, Missouri requested the investigation be turned over to them. This was done.

And soon, Jim Patterson was charged with manslaughter. Not long after, the charge was upped to murder in the second degree.

And this is why defensive shootings are so problematic for the innocent....

Roy focused on reconstruction of the shooting. Because several of Patterson’s bullets had entered behind lateral midline, the prosecution was basing much of its case on the theory Reece had been “shot in the back,” so it couldn’t be self-defense.

The wheels of justice grind slowly, and the case did not come to trial until February of 2012. When it did, it lasted only 3 days. The case had been brought originally by a prosecutor who was seen by some as not friendly to armed citizens. By time of trial, the case had been inherited by her successor, a young prosecutor named Jonathan Pierce. On the defense side, Duane Cooper held no animosity toward Pierce; he saw his opponent as someone duty-bound to try to make the best of what his predecessor had started.

Lessons

The next time someone tells you, “A good shoot is a good shoot,” feel free to laugh. A change in investigating agencies may well have turned a finding of justifiable homicide into a murder charge in this case. Roy Huntington’s explanation of action/reaction paradigms that lit the light bulb for the jury and explained the shots in the back in that fast-breaking moment in the dark, covered things which are not taught in law school and are not common knowledge among the jury pool.

Ditto the fact that “Yes, you can shoot unarmed people who are trying to take your gun and murder you and yours with it, as surely as you could do it if they were reaching for their own gun.”

The traditional advice of “Say nothing to the cops!” is not written in stone. While Duane Cooper, as a defense lawyer, still gives this advice, he’s the first to tell you talking to the cops was helpful to the Patterson family. Jim Patterson’s heartfelt account of what happened, taped hours after the shooting — when he sat in an interrogation room, bare-chested because his blood-soaked shirt had been removed — was so obviously sincere it resonated with the jury. Since there was nothing to add, Duane didn’t even have to put him on the stand.

Machine guns are already controlled and I see no negatives to it. We had a limit before and everyone was fine. It is the right to bear arms and everyone can still choose to be armed.

Machine guns are not controlled. You simply have it wrong. There are some silly laws that idiots like you think provide control but in reality anybody that wants one can will get one outside the law.

That is like saying drugs are control. Yea, there are laws against illegal drugs but that doesn't stop druggies from using, does it?

Anybody that wants a full auto for crime like the drug cartel or gangs do not buy a Class III weapon.

Only the law abiding citizens that were never going to use the gun in a crime in the first place adheres to that stupid NFA law.

The stupid ass NFA law is only a burden on law abiding citizen.

If I wanted to use a full auto in a crime I would simply modify a semi auto or buy a full auto on the black market. There are plenty of them available and the price is cheaper than a Class III thanks to a stupid Democrat that passed a bill limiting the Class III registry.

Almost anybody that knows anything about firearms can modify a semi auto to shoot full auto in just a few minutes.

The NFA law is worthless as a crime deterrent.

The only reason full auto weapons are not used in crimes very much is because they are not the weapon of choice for most criminals. Crooks mostly prefer small concealable handguns.

The NFA laws have nothing to do with it.

However....Mexico....a country of strict gun control...far stricter than our gun control...is awash in fully automatic weapons...why...the drug cartels want them.........and outside of the fully automatic weapons obama sold to the drug cartels in the Fast and Furious scandal....it simply shows that if criminals and terrorists want fully automatic weapons, they will get them....no matter what the law says....

Dittos France....the 3 terrorists.....1 was a convicted criminal, 2 were on a government terrorist watch list....France has absolute gun control on fully automatic weapons and "high capacity" magazines, as well as rocket propelled grenades and hand grenades.....these 3 terrorists got all these weapon in France..........with all their laws...showing again...to the tune of 12 murdered people and 11 wounded, that when criminals and terrorists want guns...they get guns...and when the society is under gun control....the mass shootings are worse because no one can stop them....and in gun control countries like France....even the police require special units armed with guns....which take even longer to get to the gun free killing zone.....

that's a pretty messy post. The only one that seems to have used more than 10 is the first one? You have a source that includes names and makes it sound at least kinda real? It says he lived next door so was he really defending himself or just jumping in to stop the crime?

Right so criminals used them all the time in Mexico, but I'm supposed to believe they wouldn't do the same here right? Sorry but they were used in crimes far more before we made laws to limit their use.

Why does the left really want to take away our guns and 2nd amendment rights? Obviously heaping more laws and regulations on already law abiding citizens accomplishes nothing.

You do realize that fully automatic weapons are illegal in Mexico....right....? Mexican citizens can't have them at all...right? so what you just posted is just silly.......

Drug cartels operate more freely, and often in cooperation with the Mexican government...and in rural areas where having to conceal weapons is not an issue....also....they kill thousands of people every year....anyone trying to arrest them is tortured and beheaded....hard to arrest someone with a fully automatic rifle when the cop you report it to is working for the cartels...and so is the judge, and the mayor......

Completely different dynamic than here in the U.S.....for now.....

It is simple really....they know they can't stop criminals from getting guns.....but they know they can absolutely stop regular people from owning guns if they can get the right laws passed....and so they do what they can...that is why they heap more and more laws on the system..they are fishing for law abiding citizens to catch them in a web of complex, insane laws....and then they can scare others by prosecuting these innocent people who mistakenly broke a misleading law.......

Background checks...which are meant to increase fees, registration...which is meant to increase fees, licensing...which is meant to increase fees....

They are nothing more than modern Poll Taxes on the exercise of 2nd Amendment rights....

That is why you can't trust anti gunners/democrats........never, ever trust them...and never support any background check laws, magazine limits, or gun registration....they all have hidden agendas behind them meant to get rid of your ability to buy and own guns.....

Brain...I am responding to your point as to why more gang bangers and criminals don't use fully automatic weapons here....the main point, they aren't easy to carry concealed.....but in Mexico...that doesn't matter...for the points I mentioned....
