One of the VERY BEST friggin' things about FBI Director James Comey is that he doesn't give a DAMN about politics, partisanship, Political Correctness, or trying not to offend someone. He is SOLELY focused on THE LAW.

That's what you would WANT in someone in his position (and in Loretta Lynch's position, as well), right? Yeah, not so fast...... He'd doing his job TOO well...

Comey’s FBI makes waves
Comey’s FBI makes waves

- The FBI’s demand that Apple help unlock an iPhone used by one of the San Bernardino killers has outraged Silicon Valley, a significant source of political support for President Obama and Democrats.

- The FBI stirred up even more tension by linking rising violent crime rates to the Black Lives Matter movement’s focus on police violence. (The FBI's action has especially reflected a negative light on Obama's hosting and praising Black Lives Matters at the WH twice, even after one of its members called for 'the death of all white people and cops.)

- Comey's FBI also served to highlight the shortcomings of Obama's touted (and proven failed) screening / background-check system by warning about “gaps” in the screening process for Syrian refugees.

"Then there’s the biggest issue of all: the FBI’s investigation into the private email server used by Hillary Rodham Clinton, Obama’s former secretary of State and the leading contender to win the Democratic presidential nomination.

Publicly, administration officials have not betrayed any worry about the Clinton probe. They have also downplayed any differences of opinion on Apple. But former officials say the FBI’s moves are clearly ruffling feathers within the administration."

Comey has a spotless reputation as being completely NON-Partisan , which would make trying to discredit him a 'hard row to hoe':

"Comey has a reputation for speaking truth to power, dating back to a dramatic confrontation in 2004 when he rushed to a hospital to stop the Bush White House from renewing a warrantless wiretapping program while Attorney General John Ashcroft was gravely ill. Comey was Ashcroft’s deputy at the time.

That showdown won Comey plaudits from both sides of the aisle and made him an attractive pick to lead the FBI. But now that he’s in charge of the agency, the president might be getting more than he bargained for."

Obama tried to step in, in the midst of the on-going Clinton investigation, to help Hillary, and it was not received by Comey well at all!

The split over Clinton’s email server is the most politically charged issue facing the FBI, with nothing less than the race for the White House potentially at stake.

"Obama has publicly defended Clinton, saying that while she “made a mistake” with her email setup, it was “not a situation in which America’s national security was endangered.”But the FBI director has bristled at that statement, saying the president would not have any knowledge of the investigation. Comey, meanwhile, told lawmakers last week that he is “very close, personally,” to the probe.".....

Instead of injecting his own comments about the case, possibly trying to influence it, perhaps Obama should keep his mouth shut. There is plenty of time to undermine the FBI investigation, delay it until 'too late', and even block / dismiss it, so he should sit back and let HIS Chief of the FBI and his team do their work.

"Obama’s comments reflected a pattern, several former agents said, of the president making improper comments about FBI investigations. In 2012, he made similarly dismissive comments about a pending inquiry into then-CIA Director David Petraeus, who later pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor charge for giving classified information to his mistress and biographer, Paula Broadwell.

It serves no one in the United States for the president to comment on ongoing investigations,” Taddeo said. “I just don’t see a purpose.”

---------

In all fairness to Obama, he can't help himself. Remember his college professor buddy? When Obama got the word his buddy had been arrested he stopped in front of the media just long enough to declare, "I DON'T KNOW ANY OF THE DETAILS YET BUT IT SOUNDS LIKE THE POLICE ACTED STUPIDLY."

- Not only did Obama NOT wait for the facts, but his comment came across - to some - as racist. By his own experiences, and this was only 1 of several (his comments about Patraeus was another), you would think he would learn to keep his mouth shut and let investigations run their course.

Comey, however, still remains a political problem for Obama. Obama and Lynch, while the investigation is still on-going , came out and said at this time we have no intention of calling for a Grand Jury / permitting subpoenas....speaking again before all the facts are in and the investigation over.

Comey has also said / hinted at that if his FBI comes up with a strong, worthy case for calling for a Grand Jury and Lynch / Obama refuses to do so on what he suspects to be political grounds he will possibly reveal all of the facts of the investigation to the public.

This is a serious potential political problem for both Obama and Hillary.
(Based on how so many people involved in any way with the Clintons in the past have ended up dead...or in jail...or in jail and THEN dead, I would keep a gun nearby, have a body guard, and keep my head on a swivel were I Director Comey.)

One can easily bet the members of the FBI are more loyal to Comey than to Obama.

The same could have been said about Hoover. It's not automatically a good thing.
Under current circumstances it is a very good thing.
Why? Because a wingnut media outlet with conspiracy theories about "Clinton deaths" says so?!?! :laugh2:

Nah. Because Hillary Clinton is clearly guilty of intentionally mishandling classified material and distributing the information among individuals without clearance.

Comey is a republican, he's not above political posturing...
History, and all those on both sides who respect him, disagree with you:
