Everyone should want to learn about racism because it is American history.
And if you don't read about it, you won't understand why racism exists, where it came from, how it allowed employers to pay less, etc.

Racism is much much older than American history and has many forms other than simply skin color prejudices. The HUTU and TUTSI war in Rawanda demonstrated that more significantly than the entire 200 year history of Slavery ( not confined to black slaves btw) in North America did. Another very good example of vile racism is the way 90 percent of black people feel about Jews and now they have added Asians. Feel Free to comment on any of these subjects.

I think you have stepped in it. How do you increase diversity of skin color on campus? You survey the campus and you look at the numbers of the various skin colors, then if there are not enough of a certain skin color what do you do? Obviously, you shout "racism" and force the campus to institute policies that restrict the number of the other skin colors and increase the number of the one color you want more of. Now, which is more important, diversity of skin color or diversity of thought? I would go with diversity of thought.

So, given how we deal with diversity of skin color, how is it any different to deal with diversity of thought? It seems that you oppose efforts to increase the diversity of thought our students are exposed to. That's dumb, because school is where students learn to think, and being exposed to only one type of thought is doing them no favors.

Why would you want to be taught racism?
