It was quite deadly for a large part of the population. We all know and love people who are vulnerable, whether they’re parents or people with any of a long list of medical conditions. Most don’t have the option to stay home forever. It wasn't 'deadly' back then either, for a vast majority of the people. Any anyone that it could have possibly been 'deadly' for should have stayed home and out of the public.
And apparently you only care about spreading your germs whenever it's 'deadly', who cares if you make others sick, right? You should be wearing your mask at all times.
And what part about the shots not stopping the spread or stopping you from getting it is escaping you?
I care about making others sick, but I care much more when the illness is riskier. This is all about that cost benefit analysis. The benefit of masking to prevent minor illnesses is considerably less than the benefit of masking to prevent serious illnesses.
The shots did have some effect on likelihood to get infected but that’s much less relevant than the fact that the shots had a very considerable effect to prevent people from dying. Not getting infected would be great but the true purpose of the shots was to prevent people from dying.
If you strip away the tribalism and emotional bullshit, we can have a serious adult conversation about this.
