Ford urges 2,900 pickup owners to stop driving after new Takata death

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Ford Motor Co said on Thursday it had confirmed a second death in an older pickup truck caused by a defective airbag inflator of Takata Corp and urged 2,900 owners in North America to stop driving immediately until they can get replacement parts.

If it was me I'd assume that any 2006 truck I drove didn't have an air bag that would save my hillbilly ass but if you can get a couple of bucks off Ford and Japanese engineers, go for it.

My mom got a recall notice about replacing the Takata airbags in her Honda CRV. Toyota recalled a bunch of these too. Takata messed up royally with this product. I thank Takata may have filed for bankruptcy because of all the lawsuits and recalls. People were dropping like flies...and a airbag that deploys improperly can be like a punch to the head/face from Mike Tyson.
