Fox settles admitting they provided fake news about Dominion

Laughing.......you can almost hear him shaking back and forth while he's typing that nonsense. All while repeating a lie predicated on the 'special dreams' of a woman who was 'internally decapitated'.

All because Fox News told him so.

Every single court to have hear such fantasy claims has tossed that pseudo-legal gibberish out on its ass. Every single one, without exception.

Their record of failure is perfect.

Of course they lied. They didn’t settle because they were about to win at trial. They settled because there was no way for them to win. That’s for sure.
It would appear most logical that they feared the verdict. But more, they would have lost control over the award of monetary damages.

It’s silly to say however that they settled “because” they were about to lose. I mean, think about it Fakey. Dominion settled, too.

The apparent calculations by the Fox News legal team and management involved a belief that they were likely to lose. Probably so.

Moron, in all those states mail-in votes are counted after polls are closed.

It shouldn't take very long to count those few ballots from vets overseas or the elderly who couldn't vote in person. Mail in ballots should not be a significant number of votes in the first place. Never was meant to be, it just opens the floodgates for cheating.

It appears most logical that Fox had an enormous credibility problem going into the trial because they'd been caught lying about discovery so many times that the judge had launched his own investigation.

An ex-producer had admitted that she was compelled to lie by Fox. The same ex-producer provided *very* relevant recordings related to Dominion that Fox had claimed didn't exist.

And the judge had already granted summary judgment in favor of Dominion on the issue of falsity.

Fox was fuuuuuuucked by their own lies, both before the suit began and after. And they knew it. They admitted to the lies they told about Dominion in their statement after the settlement.

This is FAR from over. Smartmatic has a 2.7 billion dollar suit still outstanding on Fox. And this settlement and case only make Smartmatic's position stronger.

That's not a defamation settlement
No one said it had to be. They are still fines and lawsuits, real ones this time, not "settlements." And Meta continues its backward slide with more layoffs in the news today.

You'll embarrass yourself less.
Can't be nearly as much as your mother.

This was the largest public defamation settlement in US history.
Read the news, moron, everything is getting bigger these days, including the hole in your head. Dominion LOST more money it sought than it really got. Then it had to pay off its legal fees. This is the beginning of the end for them while Fox News will be more popular than ever in five years still the giant of all cable news companies! Wasn't even worth their mentioning on TV yesterday!

Funny how life works!

No one said it had to be.
Laughing......if you want your post to be remotely relevant to what we're discussing, you do. Instead, you fled.

I accept your concession with all the grace it deserves.

What you've just said is absolutely ludecrous bulshit. We are talking about 2020 election in the middle of a pandemic.

In PA almost 2 million people voted by mail out of 3.5 million.

Overall 65.6 million votes were mailed in.

You swallowed all kinds of lies because you obviously don't know how to look up basic facts.

Where there was absolutely no reason to not go to the polls when people were going to work, to the supermarket and elsewhere every single day for far less reason.

In PA almost 2 million people voted by mail out of 3.5 million.
And PA ended up with far more votes than eligible legal voters with many voting rules passed illegally, making the state tally worthless and illegal.

well listen to how CNN analyzes the fox payout. Y'all gone have to censor her.

She wanted a trial...

Instead Fox paid out big time...

The judge ruled that Fox had lied.
Fox wouldn’t admit it but said only that they recognized the judge’s ruling.
If you don’t see that Fox was screwed before it even started then you have no good judgement.

The judge was CRYSTAL clear that Fox was caught lying its ass off.

"The evidence developed in this civil proceeding demonstrates that is CRYSTAL clear that none of the Statements relating to Dominion about the 2020 election are true. Therefore, the Court will grant summary judgment in favor of Dominion on the element of falsity."

That all caps on CRYSTAL wasn't my addition. That was directly from the court ruling.

Where did it say they "admitted" anything?

A settlement was made, and now the matter is settled. Better for Fox to pay a set amount now, than an unknown amount for future legal costs in defending this bullshit.

PolishPrince, I'm assuming you're not entirely ignorant or a complete fool. You do not similarly respect to readers of your posted responses. Fox News publicly agreed to pay Dominion $787,500,000 if they would drop their lawsuit.
You're contending that Fox News didn't know their broadcasted statements accusing Dominion Voting systems and their devices for somewhat enabling a “rigging” of 2020 elections were unjustified? Fox News publicly agreed to pay Dominion a $787.5 million settlement only to avoid the costs, inconveniences? Fox News consequential embarrassments due to Fox News personal testifying in court under oath, and Fox News being found guilty, and the court's determination of what Fox news should pay, were not seriously considered by Fox New's board of directors?

In civil court, the defendant needn't prove their accusations are true, the complainant must provide a preponderance of evidence that the defendant knew their accusations were unjustified. It's your posted response that's B.S.
Respectfully, Supposn

The judge’s pre-trial determination would have been subject to a very interesting appeal.

I’m utterly unconcerned with your assessment of anybody’s judgment, Fakey.

Yes the shareholder lawsuit could be the most damaging. Breaking up the Board would completely change Fox News.

The Murdochs still own enough shares to control who gets on the board, but I do agree that courts will take one very seriously.

The fact that NBC, CBS, and ABC are owned by publicly traded companies, keeps them honest and operating within established journalistic standards.

No it would not. FOX's attempt to cast this as a "freedom of speech" issue went right out the window when their own interoffice correspondence said they knew Trump lost, and they considered his lawyers and their claims to be lies and bullshit, but the viewers will tune us out if we tell them Trump lost.

You don't pay out 3/4 of a billion dollars if you think you have the smallest hope on appeal. FOX was caught and they knew it.
