Anyone who makes it a political issue is shortsighted. As a hunter who owns guns i believe Perhaps its time to hire armed and trained guards for every school via taxpayer money. If one believes in protecting lives cost is no issue..its not EVER part of the equation except for budget hawk kooks....pay them one hundred thousand dollars per year plus full benefits....are our kids not worth it? 2or 3 per school in big schools. There is something very weird going on in the liberal world. Lefties protected the Va. Tech shooter's "right" to assemble an arsenal of weapons even when university people were afraid of him and suspected he was insane. The Va. Tech shooter was arrested by local Police after a couple of coeds claimed he was stalking them but he wasn't charged with a crime. How many of those coeds were subsequently murdered because a local judge let an obviously insane person go free with a lame order to attend psychiatric counseling which nobody checked on and he never attended. Thanks to do-gooder liberals who apparently thought that insanity was a private affair his name wasn't flagged on the instant name check. The hatred that the American left showed after the Trump victory was staggering. Left wing crazies rioted and their apparent spokespeople in H'wood threatened the President with assault and arson and even showed a facsimile of his bloody severed head. What did the crazy left hope to accomplish with such a display of hatred? Six months into Trump's administration a democrat party activist opened fire on a republican baseball team. The MSM didn't seem interested and James Hodgkinson was buried along with the story. Meanwhile the hatred was still simmering. Borderline personalities like Cruz who mentioned a code word for Trump hatred, "resistance", saw a way to vent their hatred awhile democrats blamed guns. How many laws did Cruz violate? Democrats aren't interested.

If you feel the 2nd Amendment is outdated then you should start a movement to repeal it. Just ignoring it and pretending it is not there is not the answer.

If we did that, the shootings would stop. These kids aren't looking for a gun fight, they are looking for maximum kill. Having no opposition is the exact scenario they are looking for.
