He served in the "AAF Film Unit" during WWII. So technically he did serve, and it was one step ahead of George W. Bush, who ducked out of Vietnam by going AWOL from the N.G.. While Reagan, to my knowledge, did not go AWOL, his "service" sure did not compare with that of John F. Kennedy or Dwight D. Eisenhower.

If you want to lionize a Republican's service, you should choose Eisenhower. But FOX News and the hard right would never allow that, would they? So you pick a washed up movie star instead. to quote Trump: SAD!

Reagan did more than just get shot. What are Giffords' accompishments? What has she done for our Defense? What has she done for troops? Would she support officers carrying personal firearms on military bases or ships so as to avoid another islamo terrorist attack like the one that occurred at Fort Hood?

Yeah, he made some really sweet arms deals with the Iranians. Then pardoned everyone who could testify against him. A paragon of virtue that guy.

And the middle class of the United States lay in ruins because of his economic policies for the rich that the stupid still stand in line to dutifully vote for like the peons and followers that they are.

On the otherhand, Giffords standing out in the open with no secret service security detail, talking face to face with her constituents. Who didn't crash the economy, destroy the middleclass, or make illegal arms deals with Iran.
