NOt really an issue. Our laws are already confused on this issue.

A woman who aborts a 8 month fetus with Spina Bifida is not charged with murder, but a man who accidently hits a pregnant woman and causes her to miscarry can be.

It's not just PP or Gosnell that is confused, it's the law. It's really only a baby if the mother wants it to be. Sorry, that's just the reality. Never knew a woman who was planning to have an abortion who referred to it as "a baby". Never knew a woman who planned to keep it refer to it as anything else.

So here's a whacky idea. Why don't we just leave it up to the woman whose body the thing is in. That actually makes sense!

Gosnell's clinic was legit. That's the point. He was legit, and those who oversee such things knew it..but they didn't report it. Because they don't report crime. They knew he was locking women in over night, they knew the clinic was disgusting, they knew that people were dying...and they didn't report it.

Because to report atrocities threatens free-for-all abortion. So the back alley clinics are allowed to run with the full support of those who claim that legal abortion has eradicated them.

Actually, a lot of people reported it, but the agencies didn't act on them.

Mostly because the people reporting it didn't have standing to do so. That's a legal issue. You can change the law where ANY complaint triggers an investigation. As it stood, only a woman who was injured could. Most of them were poor, illegal, didn't speak English well and required to fill out a five page form in English.

so simple solution. Government run clinics, free to all, held to the highest standards of best practices...

I recognize porn as a back door to human trafficking...and the abortion industry supports it with their "never ask/never tell" policies that assists those who coerce women and girls into abortions, and who provide the men who rape and abuse women and children with a nifty little *out* that means nobody ever knows what they've done.

No, it wasn't a "legal vs. illegal" one.

The late Dr. Tiller performed the exact same kind of procedures. Except he ran a clean, well run clinic. But he still killed fetuses at 8 months.

They chose him because he was the only thing available. If you were a rich white chick, you drove to Delaware and found someone competent... Someone who knows how to fill out the paperwork properly and make sure the fetus was dead before it got down the birth canal.

So this is where I have the gripe with the pro-choice side. They are fine with abortion as long as it's following rules.
