Has the republican perception of the income inequality crisis changed at all?

Yes, they feel Donald Trump is not making enough on his investments.

well, you Dems must feel Jon Kerry-HEINZ KETCHUP isn't making enough on his investments... you all keep putting him our government to suck a paycheck off us taxpayers
He could make a heluva lot more in business, and wants to raise his own taxes to invest in America. As opposed to your corrupt, bought off, greedy idiot a-holes...

if he wanted to raise his own taxes he surly could of in the 30 YEARS since he's been sucking off taxpayers

None of these lying hypocrite libs will walk the walk, Kerry can cut a check to the treasury today to lead by example dittio Obama ditto the rest of the lying hypocrite income inequality libs. The liberal politicians use income inequality to rile up their base of low information voters, to foment division and hate but they have no intention of actually walking the walk.
So are you cons so retarded that you think every liberal voted for John Kerry?
Why dont we have a button for "Stupid" on this board?
Yeah it's a shame. We could better identify you couldn't we? I suppose you could always change your username.
Wow so you really think that handing out checks for 10k will solve poverty?

Here's an immigration bill...

Close the border, start deporting illegals, e verify and fines for hiring foreign criminals, no IDs , no social services, schooling or welfare....deport prison gang members to their country's of origin, and bill those countries for the favor. In the meantime we can slow all immigration to a halt until the system is fixed. Eliminate all immigration from Muslim countries.

For starters. Simple
Well we've been doing pretty much exactly that for about 30 years/ And it's not working.
"Close the border". Do you have any idea what that means and what it would take? Do you have any notion of the volume of goods that flows both ways across that border? No, of course not.
We have spent unimaginable sums on immigration enforcement and its been a failure. Turning the US into a police state is not really an option.
The idiot immigration restrictionists will sink the GOP with their stupid ideas.

You can't be seriously contending that we've been following that prescription for the last 30 years. That claim is divorced from reality.

It appears that you fundamentally misunderstand the terms of the debate. To close the border does not mean that all trade across a border must stop. The term doesn't mean anything with respect to trade, only human migration is affected by a closed border. Commerce can proceed unimpeded. If you don't understand such a fundamental point, then it's no wonder you're misunderstanding so much more and that's what is leading you to bad policy decisions.
No, divorced from reality is claiming that more of the same will work.
In 1990 the border patrol's budget was $262M. Last year it was nearly $3.5B. All the things immigration noobs call for we're already doing. It is already illegal to hire illegal aliens. We already have a verify system for citizenship. What is spending another X billion dollars going to do? It's nuts.

The issue is that immigration assholes who claim to be conservatives suddenly become flaming statists when this issue comes up. They want to turn the US into a police state, with everyone walkig around with papers to prove they're legal. They forget that conservative principle is the free movement of labor and capital.

They forget that conservative principle is the free movement of labor and capital.

Having zero control over those who enter our country is far from a conservative principle.
Reductio ad absurdum fallacy.

We should be focused on creating new wealth not stealing wealth from those who have it to dole out to the have nots.

Exactly.

Did Apple's boom make society poorer?

Did Microsoft's innovations make society poorer?

Did the oil boom make society poorer?

Yeah, sure, these things made some people über-wealthy (and some have abused that wealth), but they generally increased the wealth of society.

Will anyone argue that society as a whole is less wealthy than 100 years ago? Relative wealth within society may be different, but we are as a whole much better off than we were. Who except the covetous among us care if someone else has more?

Increasing wealth on an absolute scale is about creating it, not redistributing it.

No you're missing it.
Apple got wealthy by putting other people out of business.
Same with Microsoft.
Liberals focus on the losers becayse they love losers and hate winners.

Income Inequality is a Shiny Object that Progs use to distract the goldfish away from the real issue:

Lack of Earned Income by the Un and Underemployed.

It's the ECONOMY, Stupid...an economy that is growing too slowly to create enough decent jobs.

Bingo.
Economic growth has been the slowest post recession ever for the last 6 years.
Economic inequality has been the most ever.
Those things are related. Libs want to tear down the top tier, not knowing they hurt working class people by doing that. Conservatives want to build up the bottom tier. Thats the difference.

Republican don't care about income inequality. The GOP God Ronald Reagan is happy now with the success of his economic policies. Only he had it backwards. It is the trickle up policy that make him smile in his casket.

how do you change it from happening

Obviously they plan to impose communism and turns us all into slaves. So long as there is a free market, there will be income inequality, and leftists will be whining about it.

Gotta turn the RR mentality around. The GOP is still holding on to an old economic failure called the trickle down theory. The GOP House has tied the hands of an Administration that has tried to address the issue.

Looks at this minimum wage chart. We rank seventh among major democracies. We have the largest economy in the world and yet we rank seventh in providing a minimum for the poor. The GOP should be ashamed...but they are not.

"Out of the 20 or so countries listed on The Economist's Big Mac Index (countries that also have minimum wages – Italy and Germany do not, for example) from 2012, the U.S. has the 7th highest minimum wage on an absolute basis, about the median number," say the strategists. "The absolute lowest federal minimum wage is in Sierra Leone, where workers can expect just $0.03/hour. India is the lowest among larger economies with a $0.28/hour rate. Australia is at the opposite end of the spectrum, with a whopping $16.88 hourly mandated wage.

"the leftist...the leftist...the leftist.." Ignorance must be your greatest asset.

Try common sense for a change. It will make you see both sides of an issue.

Its true we dont care about it.

But Democrats don't care about it either. BEcause inequality has gotten worse under Democrats for the last 6 years. Either that or they want more of it. Which is it?

Punish those evil successful people and socialize oil, gas, and coal industries, and any other private sector cash cow they can get their hands on.

They won't be happy until we're all equally poor.
Many people today don't deserve to live in a free country like these people wailing over income inequality. Unfortunately, people are buying it.
