In the Bible, the OLD testament, the Bible talked of how God ordered the Israelites to defeat an enemy, not just militarily. God told them to defeat them, to kill everyone, to kill all their animals, and to even salt the fields to that nothing of theirs would ever grow again, that there would be no memory of them ever again. (The New Testament changed such practices and much more - began to teach true love...)

To defeat the evil of Islamic Extremism we face today I honestly believe we would have to return to the Old testament, to wipe out such Islamic Extremism in such a way, to completely exterminate it...

It is not something I am advocating, I am just saying to TRULY get the terrorist attacks and this conflict to end one might have to do that....which will never happen. They will NOT stop, though.
