Holy toledo! M -Marist poll a joke. They over sampled Democrats by 12%

Finally took the time to look at the actual poll. OMG! This is the one the press has been reporting that Hillary is up by 15%. Check it out for yourselves then start bitch slapping Clinton supporters around.

:lmao:

Well yeah. On the party breakdown they polled Democrats or Democrat leaning voters at 50%.

And they polled Republicans and R leaning voters at 38%. Right there is a 12 point spread. I hate pollsters who do this shit.

Ummm, a rigorous poll would have a 50/50 sampling. That's how legit polls are done.

Nooooo...

These polls are meant to measure political opinion. You can't stratify based on political opinion - nor would a 50/50 split be representative of the American public as a whole.

Oh, while we're at it, that LA Times/USC poll, that RW'ers fell madly in love with a week or two ago because it showed Trump up by 7 points,

is now at a TIE. So outlier or not, it has moved in the same direction by about the same amount as almost every other poll.

Trump falling, Clinton rising, is a fact.

I agree in principle, but the facts are that the American public is far more moderate conservative than liberal/progressive. Thus they were underrepresented in the poll. Just sayin...

But every poll is showing more people identifying as a Democrat.

That sounds like a statement of faith more than an actual demographic fact, but it doesn't even matter in this case, since according to this poll, 40% of respondents identified as "Conservative" and only 28% identified as "Liberal".

Consistently the ratio of liberals to conservatives runs about 22% liberal 35% conservative, you see that in past presidential elections. Moderates are around 45%. So ratio-wise this poll was accurate.

You want the really bad news for Trump in this poll?

He lost the Moderate vote 50 to 27.
Anything close to that in November and he is CERTAIN to lose.

Just for perspective, Obama won the Moderate vote by 20 and 15 points, respectively, in 2008 and 2012.

Self identified Moderates are on balance left of center. They vote Democrat by large margins every presidential election.

You might have a point if they had intentionally selected more Democrats than Republicans

But they make random calls and party affiliation comes out later in the survey. If they are polling more Dems than Repblicans, it probably means more people are leaning Dem than Republican

Yet a religious and social poll by pew showed in 2015 that the want for smaller government had grown since 2007.

Conservatives don't think a poll is legitimate unless it has 50% Trump voters and 50% Hillary voters

That is what they think is "fair"

Even if they had polled 50 - 50 Democrats and Republicans,

Hillary Clinton still wins, because

1. She won the Independent vote in that poll, 37 to 31, and,

2. 90% of Democrats supported her, while only 79% of Republicans supported Trump.

More proof that the poll is skewed. Really rigorous and righteous polls show trump winning. Everyone knows that.

Polls are weighted to level the distribution of specific data. Otherwise they would be worthless, the pollsters couldn't sell their product and they would rapidly go out of business. Take some fucking stats classes and edify your dumb ass!
