‘Housing for All’: Democrats push for big government response to soaring rents

I would like to see it raised to $15 an hour over a three year period
After that, I would like to see it automatically raised based on cost of living parameters.

Congress has the responsibility to raise the minimum wage. They are no longer capable of doing it

Of what benefit is a National minimum wage? For many cities, they can't hire inexperienced teenagers at Walmart or In-N-Out Burgers for $15.00 an hour.

Why do you demand to be ignorant about the topic for which you seem so much passion?

It's a wedge for national wage and price controls.

‘Medicare for All’ Would Cost $32.6 Trillion Over 10 Years, Study Says

Washington (AP) -- Sen. Bernie Sanders' "Medicare for all" plan would boost government health spending by $32.6 trillion over 10 years, requiring historic tax hikes, says a study released Monday by a university-based libertarian policy center.

That's trillion with a "T."

The latest plan from the Vermont independent would deliver significant savings on administration and drug costs, but increased demand for care would drive up spending, according to the analysis by the Mercatus Center at George Mason University in Virginia. Doubling federal individual and corporate income tax receipts would not cover the full cost, the study said.

/----/ KissMy rated my post about Medicaids for All as just rehashed warmed-over Obozocare, Thumbs Down.
According to the Kaiser Family Foundation, Sanders’ and Jayapal's bills (S. 1129 and H.R. 1384, respectively) share many similarities, such as:
  • comprehensive benefits
  • tax financed
  • a replacement for all private health insurance, as well as the current Medicare program
  • lifetime enrollment
  • no premiums
  • all state-licensed, certified providers who meet eligible standards can apply

of course that was before Obama Care started and was the result of a tidal wave of garbage GOP propaganda and fear-mongering as usual... Even with all the GOP sabotaging obstruction, Obamacare is getting to be pretty popular.... Medicare for all would be even better but of course that's communist LOL. None of these things do anything but change the way your regular care is paid for, and by the way giving us a chance to bring down the ridiculous cost of healthcare we have after having a GOP scam system forever...

Here's a GREAT Liberal Progressive Socialist Democrat solution:

The House should create a new Fair Rent Committee in which Democrats study 'fair market value rent' for everywhere in the US then mandates landlords in these areas can NOT charge more than the rent the Committee says is acceptable. (Understandably, rents will be inexplicably higher in 'Elitist Zones' to keep the 'deplorables' out.
-- They could control the cost of rent and creates another Social / Economic program that provides monthly payments to help people cover the cost of the rent.....(Vote Dem, get rent, or be evicted...)

How about 'Unemployed Housing' - really nice houses for anyone who chooses to go on and stay on Unemployment after the economy begins recovering....and $2k per month (as AOC suggested)?

Housing for Lower/Lower Middle class can be offered. Rent is high(er), places aren't as nice as 'Unemployment' housing, but the Dem motto is, 'If you turn down our help ('economics of slavery') then it is up to us to make where you are as painful and costly as possible to give you incentive to make it....and if you fail, we have some nicer 'Un-employmet' houses waiting on you.....

Hmmmmmm....could work

Don’t we have housing for all during emergencies? During Katrina we saw the government version of housing for all. They got to live in a football stadium with rapists and people shitting all over the place. That’s government housing people. You don’t get the picket fence if the government gives it to you.
Another great job by the scumbag GOP....

Fuck em.....get a room mate like we used to do.
this is what happens when your scumbag lying GOP cuts taxes on the rich and we no longer have enough money to invest in low-income housing.... We also don't pay people enough to afford rent let alone to build anything. Great job scumbag GOP and silly dupes like you....

I quit high school in the tenth grade and never needed low income housing.
So what was your malfunction halfwit?

I have never lived in low income housing either you f****** stupid a*******. I tend to think of the welfare of my fellow citizens in the country. You ought to try it sometime and look past the end of your nose. Go back to school so you can think. Or change the channel from the brainwash Network.

Or you can actually pay a living wage so that people could afford to rent or build or live civilized lives, Brainwashed functional moron.

of course that was before Obama Care started and was the result of a tidal wave of garbage GOP propaganda and fear-mongering as usual.

Dems control 90% of the media yet somehow those rascally Republicans convinced people not to support it? Franco puh-lease :eusa_hand:
Unfortunately 40% of the people get all their "news" from the GOP propaganda machine or friends who do and have no clue what is going on. Phony scandals conspiracies absolute idiocy. Keep voting for The greedy idiot rich!

I figured out what's wrong with the housing prices. (Cost of keeping a roof over the head)
Municipalities have increased property taxes so much little by little over the years, they hover around double what they should be.
Also municipalities horn in on rental property income, they extort the majority of the profit.
This drives rent prices up drastically.
So say you have a 2/1 house..with homestead exemption, taxes are around $1600.
Say you take a job on the road and decide to rent it out: Now your taxes are $8000
All the rent money is going to the municipalities. So much so, that it's criminal.

The Democrats don't control it you idiot. It's called journalism and except for Rupert Murdoch productions and radio demagogues like Rush etc they report what is reality try it sometime. you think the Democrats control all the newspapers around the world that Rupert Murdoch doesn't own and all the media around the world that Rupert Murdoch doesn't own? Absolute idiocy!

Even IF that were true it still gives Dems a 20 point spread.
