How Can You Be A Socialist….

So you agree with every charge I have leveled at Roosevelt....but continue to carry his water....

Exactly as I described you.
Can you answer the question or not?
Actually , FDR drastically altered the country for the worst. Prior to his reign, the welfare state didn't exist. I don't know how anyone can claim that the nation was the same after FDR.
The nation was not the same after FDR. That is why the American voted for FDR four times, a record of how the people felt about his presidency. Seems the historians have rated him "best president," what more evidence is needed. Maybe if you call FDR a dictator the historians will see how wrong they were.

"Can you answer the question or not?"

Of course I can...after all I am an expert on Roosevelt.

FDR was a lying windbag who extended the recession into a decade long depression.
He did the same for WWII, costing untold American blood and treasure.

He did this with intent to obviate the Constitution and to ingratiate himself with Joseph 'Koba' Stalin, the world's worst homicidal dictator.

Now...a query for you.
Since you have been unable to deny any of the facts.....FACTS...that I have reported about Roosevelt, why do you continue to pretend that he be exempt from the contumely he deserves???
FDR's brand of socialism took us from a relative third world economy and propelled us into the first world. Only the right wing, never gets it.
Na, Great businessman have more to do with building this country than any career politicians. Fact
Socialism took us to the Moon and back, last millennium. Capitalists are still looking for a profit motive.
Na, Career politicians have done nothing for the people of this country. These are the real architects of this country... The Men Who Built America - Wikipedia

They did it within the US. Where is the AnCap that is so fine and soo wonderful, in modern times?

A staunch conservative that almost ran for the presidency had this to say:
"For the framers of the Constitution were the most liberal of all the ages and the charter they produced out of the liberal revolution of their time has never been and is not now surpassed in liberal thought."
MacArthur was educated at West Point and while a conservative knew of America's history. Anyone want to answer the question: What was the liberal revolution of the framers time?

It wasn't socialism, Affirmative Action or the welfare state, moron. Freedom was the liberal revolution. That's where the term "liberal" comes from, i.e. from "liberty" That's the exact opposite of what snowflake drones like you believe in.

Freedom from monarchy, i.e. the freedom to participate in your own governance. The freedom to build a society in a manner that we together as a society see fit.

They supported freedom from government, commie, not just monarchy. They weren't fans of democracy. The founding fathers would never have agreed with modern so-called "liberals."

We had more freedom and paid far lower taxes under the monarchy than we currently suffer under democracy.

The Age of Enlightenment or the Age of Reason.
A most interesting Age and it had a direct influence on the American
Revolution and the Constitution. A must for history scholars.

They supported freedom from tyranny. That is why they created a government in republican form. Had they believed people should be free of government they wouldn't have created one, dummy.

Representative democracy is not without its flaws. A morally bankrupt culture is sure to be reflected in its politics.

the right wing is worse. all the monoculturalists are over there.

No it wasn't socialism although there was socialism in the new nation-whatever socialism might be? It was a new concept in government. Just as monarchies existed for the welfare of the King and nobles so the new country would exist for the people. And the government the framers and founders created was citizen-oriented, it's all there in the Declaration of Independence, Constitution and history books.
Does socialism frighten you? Most countries have some, including the U.S.

You're spouting leftwing slogans, not reality. What the hell does "for the people" even mean? In reality it means nothing. What the Founders wanted was as little government as possible. They believe people didn't need government to solve their problems or do things for them. They viewed all government as a threat to their freedom, and they were right.

So why did the founders create a new government with the Constitution after they had written the Articles which gave the people even more freedom?

"In 1957, Ayn Rand wrote a compelling novel about a world overtaken by socialism. In that world, the talents who earned money for their work were being robbed by their government. The heavy government regulations crippled the industries.

As government oppression continued to grow, the brightest, most productive business owners, the talents, began disappearing. They did not want to be enslaved by their government. Atlas Shrugged.

Venezuela is living through a reality predicted by Rand’s novel.

Venezuela is a socialist, statist world. The government took everything from the brightest, most productive people and redistributed it away. When those people no longer had a reason to produce, they stopped producing."

Rand and Orwell saw this coming and wrote very accurately about it. Both of them have been proven right. Too bad that our schools no longer require kids to read these books (or any books for that matter)

No wonder homeschooling is burgeoning.

...and have any self respect?
After all, if your worth is due to that which is taken from someone else, someone who earned it....your value is nothing more than the vote you offer up to your patron, big government.

In full disclosure, the title of the thread is just as cogent if other terms are substituted for 'socialist,' terms such as communist, fascist, Progressive, Nazi or modern Liberal.

1. "Socialism is the end of all invention; it is the happy face of slavery. Mankind are greater gainers by suffering each other to live as seems good to themselves than by compelling each to live as seems good to the rest" - J.S. Mill

2. " Capitalism is the only moral system because it requires human beings to deal with one another as traders–that is, as free moral agents trading and selling goods and services on the basis of mutual consent.

Capitalism is the only just system because the sole criterion that determines the value of thing exchanged is the free, voluntary, universal judgement of the consumer. Coercion and fraud are anathema to the free-market system.

It is both moral and just because the degree to which man rises or falls in society is determined by the degree to which he uses his mind. Capitalism is the only social system that rewards merit, ability and achievement, regardless of one’s birth or station in life."

The requirements for success in a free society demand that ordinary citizens order their lives in accordance with certain virtues–namely, rationality, independence, industriousness, prudence, frugality, etc. In a free capitalist society individuals must choose for themselves how they will order their lives and the values they will pursue. Under socialism, most of life’s decisions are made for you.

3. Under socialism a ruling class of intellectuals, bureaucrats and social planners decide what people want or what is good for society and then use the coercive power of the State to regulate, tax, and redistribute the wealth of those who work for a living. In other words, socialism is a form of legalized theft.

The morality of socialism can be summed-up in two words: envy and self-sacrifice.
Envy is the desire to not only possess another’s wealth but also the desire to see another’s wealth lowered to the level of one’s own.

Socialism’s teaching on self-sacrifice was nicely summarized by two of its greatest defenders, Hermann Goering and Bennito Mussolini.

The highest principle of Nazism (National Socialism), said Goering, is: “Common good comes before private good.”

Fascism, said Mussolini, is ” a life in which the individual, through the sacrifice of his own private interests…realizes that completely spiritual existence in which his value as a man lies.

4. Sadly, America is no longer a capitalist nation. We live under what is more properly called a mixed economy–that is, an economic system that permits private property, but only at the discretion of government planners. A little bit of capitalism and a little bit of socialism.

When government redistributes wealth through taxation, when it attempts to control and regulate business production and trade, who are the winners and losers? Under this kind of economy the winners and losers are reversed: the winners are those who scream the loudest for a handout and the losers are those quiet citizens who work hard and pay their taxes." Socialism vs. Capitalism: Which is the Moral System | Ashbrook

Nazi...national socialism....based on nationalism and/or race...
Communism....international socialism.
Heaven in the Bible is socialist to the extremeo..

the liberal teachers union knows that if they teach the kids to think for themselves that they become a danger to the liberal establishment, so instead they indoctrinate them with liberal nonsense. Again, Rand and Orwell saw this coming.
