How Socialism Is the Only Way to Defeat Oligarchy and Authoritarianism

Bernie is not just moving a party the left, he is moving a whole generation to the left. he overwhelmingly won the youth vote against Sec Clinton

if you are a successful wealthy man, it probably means someone else got fucked over!
This is false on many levels...

  • There is no "finite pool of wealth", and even if there were you have no claim on it.
  • This attitude ensures you will always see yourself as a victim, when in fact you're likely just lazy.
  • Shaming the successful will not gain you the pity you think you deserve.

I could go on, but you get the idea. Or more likely, you don't and never will. This makes you the real burden on society.

If you own a business and you hire an employee, you don't pay that employee the full value that he/she adds to the business.

The employee is getting paid less than he is worth.

it’s important for the American people to understand what the definition is of socialism. And it's certainly not how Donald Trump defines it

it means a vibrant democracy and an economy that works for all, not just the people on top

There are a lot of democratic socialists in the Democratic Party. There are now, and there always have been

there's only one way to fix the system and that is to tear it up, and americans are on board doing that

Socialism, but in Iowa

Libertarians are like autistics…there’s a spectrum

Trump believes in corporate socialism for the rich and powerful, Bernie believes in dignity to all God's children. pick a side, we're at war!
Incorrect. Bernie believes gov't must confiscate private wealth so he can steal it and leave everyone else equally poor but yeah ... we are at war with those who would make America into Venezuela.

I take that to mean you are autistic and can't see the irony in you posting that?

I would say it is more important for members of the DSA to understand what socialism is and be able to define it. Unfortunately, as per the article, they can't. They just know that capitalism is not working for them. The only way to solve the problem is to eliminate capital. I don't see any Americans on board with that.

Rich and successful men and women aren't either because you are neither.

Incorrect. You imply those who built and those who run the biz should get nothing in return. The worker - thanks to our relatively free markets - gets exactly what he or she is worth.

This is just plain wrong.

I implied no such thing.

The worker gets what he or she is worth in the capitalist market. This is not the same as the value they add by their labor, it is less.

The value they add to the company is not what they are worth and the employee is not - as you claimed - "getting paid less than he is worth."

brothers and sisters: how much money your family makes determines the quality of your little league baseball glove, which brand of sneakers you wear, and what kind of car your father drives. it also determines whether you live in a rent-controlled apartment house (working class) or a "private house" (middle class).

we need to spread the wealth around is what we need to do

Spreading the wealth around, results in no wealth. All the rich will pack up their jobs, and their wealth, and leave the country. This is why no country that has ever tried what you suggests, has ever had a good result.

Venezuela, Cuba, Soviets, North Korea, China, and so on.

In fact not even France and western countries have good results.

No. That is factually untrue.
