The Hunter Biden trial is not about being addicted to drugs or being a drug user. It’s about him being held accountable for violating a federal law by lying on a federal firearms application.You miss the point. If he wasn't on drugs at the time, was in a period of recover, and really didn't believe he was an addict because he had his use under control, then he wasn't lying... he was just mistaken.
And all he has to do is convince one juror to hang the jury.
I guess in your mind drunk drivers should not be held accountable because they were drunk or dependent upon alcohol?

The form doesn't say, "Have you ever been" it says "are you"
Are you an unlawful user of, or addicted to, marijuana or any depressant, stimulant, narcotic drug, or any other controlled substance?
If he stopped using, underwent rehab, and sincerely believed he was clean, then he wasn't lying.
