I was at a party with a bunch of Doctors last night....

The Doctor Patient Medical Association has released a new survey of about 700 doctors, and the results are bleak. Scary bleak. Among other dismal figures, Doctors' Attitudes on the Future of Medicine: What’s Wrong, Who’s to Blame, and What Will Fix It found that 83% of respondents are contemplating leaving the industry if Obamacare is fully implemented, owing to its disastrous projected consequences. Indeed, they openly blame the healthcare law for their industry's woes:

KEY FINDINGS

90% say the medical system is on the WRONG TRACK
83% say they are thinking about QUITTING
61% say the system challenges their ETHICS
85% say the patient-physician relationship is in a TAILSPIN
65% say GOVERNMENT INVOLVEMENT is most to blame for current problems
72% say individual insurance mandate will NOT result in improved access care
49% say they will STOP accepting Medicaid patients
74% say they will STOP ACCEPTING Medicare patients, or leave Medicare completely
52% say they would rather treat some Medicaid/Medicare patient for FREE
57% give the AMA a FAILING GRADE representing them
1 out of 3 doctors is HESITANT to voice their opinion
2 out of 3 say they are JUST SQUEAKING BY OR IN THE RED financially
95% say private practice is losing out to CORPORATE MEDICINE
80% say DOCTORS/MEDICAL PROFESSIONALS are most likely to help solve things
70% say REDUCING GOVERNMENT would be single best fix.

OH HEY! Thanks for quoting a poll conducted by an organization that was working to actively repeal health care reform. Boy, their numbers are TOTALLY unbiased, huh?

Doctor Patient Medical Association - SourceWatch

The Doctor Patient Medical Association (DPMA) and the Patient Power Alliance (PPA) work to repeal health care reform[1] and call themselves a "a nonpartisan association of doctors and patients dedicated to preserving free choice in medicine."[2] The organization is a member of the National Tea Party Federation[3] and the "American Grassroots Coalition."[4]

The AMA, however, does support Obamacare:

you bitch about a source that says they want to repeal Obamacare, calling them biased...

and in the same post, cite a source that is listed as a 'key backer' of Obamacare, and you don't consider them biased as well?

I guess it's only bias when it goes against what YOU want, huh, dipshit.

83% of doctors said they would seriously consider leaving medicine.

Link?

Do you dispute the survey's selection bias?

Uh, hey dummy, my entire point was that not every doctor hates the ACA. So hence I posted a link to a source of information on doctors that DO support the ACA. I know this might be hard for a dumbfuck like you to understand, but my entire point in posting that link was to show a group of doctors with a bias FOR the ACA, thereby debunking the absolute bullshit tripe that SO MANY DOCTORS ARE GOING TO QUIT AND HATE THE ACA.

Man, you're fucking dumb.

My niece is a young doctor.

She hasn't had time for facebook or television since she entered med school, let alone schlepping around all day on a messageboard.

I continue to think geaux is full of shit.

I've been in Healthcare for 30 years, I'm not a doctor but I have two degrees in healthcare. I'm about 99% sure that GTH is nothing but a medical secretary.

Whether you believe it or not, I might be one of the PGY1s scaring the shit out of you next week.

Of course, if you aren't in the ED it won't be me since that is where I am in July.

I'll be on the floor in August.

That's an easy thing to claim, and there is no real way any of it can be substantiated. Regardless, it doesn't give any credence to your posts.

Just like anyone claiming he's lying doesn't hold any credence either. Funny how that works, huh?

How about the opinion of the American Medical Association? Is that a nonpartisan enough group for all of you? From their website:

SAN DIEGO, Ca., May 11, 2012 – This past weekend physicians from around the nation assembled in San Diego to hear Congressmen, medical group leaders, fellow citizens, fiscal policy experts and media personalities decry the state of American healthcare under the stepwise implementation of the ‘Affordable Care Act’ legislation.

More importantly, they learned how to become individual activists in the ongoing fight to protect the sacred bond and privilege between a patient and his/her physician, and how to thwart further government intrusion into the examination room.

The AMA? Non-partisan? When did that happen? Most doctors I know don't want anything to do with the AMA. They know it as a political group that has long ago lost interest in doing what is right for patients, doctors, and the doctor patient relationship.

No, idiot. That's not the AMA. That's the AMS. Good try though.

Oh, well, there's my answer. I knew that the AMA was far from non-partisan.

My ignore list only has one name on it, and it seems to be working just fine...
This message is hidden because francoHFW is on your ignore list.

Seriously? You must be one of the few who don't have Shaman on.

ignore is for pussies.

Normally I agree, but Shaman's posts are simply annoying, not for his opinions, but for the colors, text sizes, etc. I don't need to wade through that stuff to hear drivel, I can get that from Truthmatters without the eyestrain.

Except that I don't care.
