The results of the 1860 Presidential election was not accepted by the Democratic Party, so they voted to secede in 11 Southern states. The result was a war that resulted in the death of 600,000 men, and a total victory for the North and a humiliating and destructive defeat for the South. The last time Democrats tried to overthrow the results of an election, the Republican President invaded your part of the country, killed hundreds of thousands of your men, burned down your cities, wrecked your railroads, and looted your livestock and crops. Do you really want a repeat of that harsh lesson?
REEEally.
When was that? And where?
This oughta be good.....
Oboy oboy he actually took the bait, UNbelievable how little history these wags have.......
The 1860 Democratic candidate won exactly the same number of electoral votes from the South as Lincoln did, which was ZERO. He actually came in fourth, winning all of one state (Missouri). And Lincoln's name wasn't even on ballots in the South while Douglas was. And after the election he used the few months he had left to live to speak loudly against the idea of secession and advised Lincoln on how to deal with the South, arguing that Lincoln would need more military than he had thought.
That's because the South had already seceded from the Democratic Party, literally driving its convention out, before that election took place.
Maybe all this time you spend spewing loads of hallucinatory paranoia on the internet could be spent on a part-time job so you could afford to buy yourself a history book.
