Both guys are idiots. If you get stopped while driving you have to show your license if they ask for it. In this guy's case, he was driving with expired plates and it turns out he had an expired license anyway so he shouldn't have been driving in the first place.

As far as the cop goes, he should have handled this much more calmly and called his supervisor when asked. If that didn't resolve it then ultimately breaking the window may have been the best option, but he escalated it to that point much too quickly. A lot of cops walk around with big egos because of the authority they are given and they get used to people groveling before them, so when someone doesn't follow the herd they tend to quickly lose their shit.

They were both wrong. The driver is being charged for driving with an invalid license and expired tags. If he was, he should be charged but the cop should be fired because he clearly cannot control his temper and is a liability.
