The Iowa Republican Party voted unanimously to put the nail in the coffin of the Iowa Republican Straw Poll.

At one time the pay-to-play Straw Poll was an important component of the Republican Clown Car race to the White House.

In 2011 Bat Crap Crazy Michele Bachmann won the Straw Poll and went on to 6th in the Iowa State Caucuses. The picture of Bachmann eating Corn Dog is now a collector's item for those thought that Bachmann, famous for her failed rebuttle to the State of The Union Speech (Those brave soldiders storming the beaches of Iwo Jama) with staring off into space while ignoring the camera in front of her.

With the current number Republican Bozo's filling the Winnabago, accomadating them might have been a problem.

But alas and a lack, no more pics Bachamann chowing on corn dog.....no more sound bites of Mitt Witt in Mom Jeans leaning on a hay bale.

The Iowa Straw poll goes the way of the Dodo, hopefully so will the Republican Party.

Everyone is pro life, everyone wants to see the practice end.

The conflict concerns how to end the practice, where most on the right seek to violate the Constitution to do so, expanding the size and authority of government at the expense of individual liberty.

Indeed, many on the right have no real desire to end the practice, as abortion is an excellent wedge issue to energize the rightwing base.

It will never happen, of course, but those on the left and right should work together to find a way to end abortion that comports with the Constitution and its case law.

The problem is it's too just to easy to 'ban' abortion, say the problem is 'solved,' and walk away, when in fact the problem hasn't been solved, abortions will continue as before, the only difference you won't have to hear about it.
