Yeah the Republicans are off the deep end now. They don't view themselves as having any barriers to using governmental power as a political weapon. There is no bottom.

And what is hard to figure is why they'd completely give up all their credibility to protect a sexual predator like Lying Donald. If the majority of the American people don't vote these people out of office then the democracy is nearing it's end. A political party that gains power and then uses that power and all the institutions of government as their personal army in the war against all other political parties has already given up on democracy. Once one of the larger cohorts of political interest decide it's either their way or now way then the very construction of the America government, that of forced compromise, will begin to crumble and fall away.

Putin must be dancing a jig every night seeing how little it cost him to pull the foundation of American democracy out from under it. And it becomes clear that he and a good number of Republicans wanted to orchestrate this for a while now.
