The Pope is a communist sympathizer. He may very well still be a Christian, but his mixing of religion and politics is very unseemly.

Will the IRS now revoke the tax exempt status of the Catholic Church? Hardly, because the Pope supports Obama's agenda.
how is he mixing religion with politics?

Nope. But Communism was founded on some pretty serious Anti-Religion beliefs.
communism has been around as long as civilization - probably before. there's nothing anti-religion about it.
it has been used by people that are anti-religion though.

Well, the founders of Communism/Socialism had some pretty dim views of religion. You can research them and see how they felt about it.
again, there are no 'founders' of communism. it is perhaps the oldest form of economy.

The worse kind of economy that has been exposed over and over for the fraud that is and the hardships that it endows upon its citizens.
depends on the population size.

No it doesn't. Communism glorifies the state and screws the populace.

Some could go as far as to say the Pope is a 'Limousine Liberal.' The Catholic Church has acquired untold vast wealth. The Pope could always order all that gold melted down and the vast wealth given to the less fortunate masses? Is the Pope and the Catholic Church wiling to give up its vast wealth to help the poor among us?

so let's say you were stranded on a desert island with a few other people. would you pool your resources and the fruits of your labor or would you set up a barter system?

That all depends on your role in society. If you produce, then you are screwed, if you are a lazy do nothing collector of other peoples production, then it benefits you.

He's a catholic priest right? That makes him a pedophile, right Libs?

The fact that he hates capitalism makes him a commie subversive.

What is getting the far right's panties in a wad is when the Pope follows the Bible's direction regarding helping the weak and the poor, greed and destroying God's Earth.
There are a ton of Bible verses about helping the disadvantaged and the sin of greed. The Bible clearly states that God will destroy those who destroy God's Earth.
Because the Pope is following God's direction on these issues, the far right calls him a communist/socialist.
Doesn't any far right folks ever read the Bible, ever?
On the other hand, the Pope has made hard comments about abortion and gay marriages that follow the right's philosophy.
Why is it I don't see the left whining about those stances.
The right just hates the Pope because he quotes the Bible and it goes directly at their in-Christian ideology and they are the Party of God?

If each person had a different skill set, I would consider a barter system.
But if you were on a desert island and were pooling resoruces and the fruits of your labor, and you noticed that one of those among you did nothing, however he/she could be found at the food storage stuffing their face all day while you went out and foraged, how long would it be before you said something.

saying, even doing something, doesn't negate communism

Wise observation. :)

My problem has nothing to do with that.
Its the fact that the pope walks around with more self righteous attitude than Jesus Christ did. Jesus was humble, the pope is not.
we wont even get into the financial end of the Catholic church or their worshiping false idols.

Two choices ...communist or good Christian? Let's put it this way, democrats exempt themselves from criticism related to morality and family values so they can never be called "good Christians" but yet they agree with the Pope when it comes to capitalism and the environment. We know the Pope is a Christian at least so where does it leave democrats?

do you find the two antithetical? can you show us any scripture that would support the idea that a communist cannot be a good christian?

See that group of communists pictured in post 16? They're the most prolific ethnic group in the United States, and incur some resentment from their neighbors because they work so efficiently, and grow their business so fast, their individualistic-based neighbors can't keep up. They've done it that way for five hundred years, and in that entire history they've recorded something like two murders and one suicide. In five hundred years.

From time to time some of their young'uns venture out to taste the world we live in. Invariably boys, just to see what it's like. Once they've done that, 99% of them return. That's the degree of their "hardship". They're the most self-confident bunch I've ever met, anywhere, and I mean not even close.

Exactly, that's why in the example above they split off once they reach typically about 150 people... above that gets unwieldy.

What they do is they go buy another parcel of land with their abundant profits, build all the structures, all the houses, the dining hall, the barns, everything -- and then the last thing they do is select who among them goes to populate it, by lottery. Half of them get picked in the evening, and they set out the next morning, and the daughter colony begins.

The Pope's views on poverty and the environment are no further left than most democrats. If you label the Pope a communist you have to include the democrat party and Barry Hussein.

Which I'm sure some conservatives would. Which demonstrates how little the opinion of said conservatives has to do with reality or the actual meaning of words.

In agreement with the Pope on some issues. And disagreeing on others?

Like most folks.

"Democrat" isn't part of the fake poll. It's flawed enough already without bringing in new irrelevancies.

So far we've got a clusterfuck conflation of (a) a religion; (b) an institution; (c) a social structure system; and now (d) a United States political party.

Can purple cotton candy and the best source for Datsun turn signal parts be far behind?

What a great thread.

Some are calling him an average 'Limousine Liberal.' The Catholic Church has accumulated untold vast wealth. It might very well be the wealthiest entity on earth. The Pope could order that vast wealth to be given to the poor masses. Yet he hasn't, and won't. It's the mentality of your average $Millionaire Limousine Liberal.

Communism/Socialism is appealing to them because they won't have to live its brutal realities. They won't have to stand in line for hours for a loaf of bread. They're rich after all. It's only the little people who'll be doing that. Just ask the People of Venezuela how well Communism's working out for them. Communism/Socialism does look good on paper somewhat. But in practice, it just doesn't work.

Been working for the Hutterites for five hundred years, Dense-boy. So well in fact that their neighbors can't even compete in terms of results.
