Is Tulsi Gabbards explanation for why she voted against the "covid" relief bill... the best answer of all?

... and an answer that liberals simply cannot and will not even acknowledge?

quote - "it is a slap in the face to the American people... people who have not worked in months, struggle or cannot pay their rent... to think that it is ok to give $billions of dollars to corporate special interests, foreign governments... and $600 to these Americans is a slap in the face to them."

What say you?

Tulsi is the reason Harris drop out of her Presidential campaign
Tulsi would have been a better running mate than Harris and someone what to explain how Harris got on the ticket in the 1st place?

Harris is "black" and female. Those were the only qualifications needed.

Tulsi is dumber than a sack of hammers. Harris is the sharpest knife in the drawer. She made Brett Kavenaugh cry.

Tulsi had me for awhile because she's easy on the eyes.
Then she started saying stupid stuff and didn't seem quite so attractive. ;)

There was a guy in our social circle when I was in my 20's. He looked like John Schneider from Dukes of Hazzard, but he was taller, and had a better body. As one girl swooned when he walked by "He even smells good". Those of us who went to high school with him all said the same thing - he is the best looking guy in town, bar none, but then he opens his mouth and starts talking, and we're done.

I had a girlfriend last year like that. She was damn hot and amazing in bed, but she said the dumbest shit and wouldn't leave it was time. Trump supporter as you may have already figured. :cool-45:

If $600 is a slap in the face, what does that make the zero dollars?

The issue for many isn't so much the $600. It's the millions that corporations and foreign countries get while the people responsible for it all get $600.

The foreign money was part of the regular appropriations bill, had nothing to do with the COVID relief. Not sure what you mean about corporate money.

Yep, Americans would be getting $600 now. It's not enough but it is something and Congress....at least the Democrats would want to pass another stimulus and we wouldn't have a president in the way to muck it all up. Not to mention the government shutdown this may cause.

And the really screwy part is the Whitehouse was negotiating with Congress before the vote. If Trump had said earlier he wanted $2000 checks, we know the Democrats would have been very happy with that and maybe between the two Republicans in Congress could have been politically pulled along. But no, we have to wait until it's too late in the game for Trump to play spoiler and delay any sort of aide.

As far as I’ve heard, the White House had very little involvement. Trump has been too distracted.

I think the Whitehouse was very involved in crafting both the spending bill (as any Whitehouse would be) and COVID relief. Whether Trump was or not I don't know but he's involved now when it's too late and any sort of aide is now delayed further.

Mnunchin was involved. It's why there was so much money in there for corporations and so little for the people.

Tulsi has been a much needed and refreshing voice of honety and common sense - which is why the Dems hate her and have driven her out of Congress.

She hasn't been "driven out of Congress". She's a sitting Rep now and retiring. For now. And when she ran she got elected easily.

As for "the Dems hate her" that's of course a sweeping generalization based on nothing but wishful thinking and as such, dismissed out of hand.

Yes you know what I mean. Yours is a cowardly response. It also does not matter if it's two bills. The end result was the same.

A progressive here that agrees with Gabbards. I also thought the COVID-19 bill signed back in March was total BS and the relief funds should go to those that were suffering economic hardship associated with the pandemic and business shutdowns.

And a smart prosecutor. Interesting that you left that part out and centred only on the personal.

Her prosecutorial record was horrible.

It's not just the covid relief bill, it's the federal budget to September of next year. Gabbard just voted to shut down the government.

The woman is dumber than a sack of hammers.

Therein lies the problem right there. Why does crisis relief need to be tied into so many other things? This is the kind of Washington shit both her and Trump have taken leadership on am spoken out against. You mock her for what you consider not to be smart. She’s sticking up for the American People. You are spreading your legs for your globalist masters.

Yes you know what I mean. Yours is a cowardly response. It also does not matter if it's two bills. The end result was the same.
I don’t. The COVID relief bill was incorporated into an existing appropriations bill. It had no foreign money.

I believe it was Tulsi that showed Harris the door on her Presidential campaign

I believe it's Tulsi who is soon to be out of office and Harris is the new VP.

She lost her party for good and other than wingnuts jerking off to her she's not going far as an independent or Republican.

Tulsi did not sell her soul the Democratic party. Explain how the least popular candidate and the first to drop out of te race managed to get on the ballot in the 1st place.. She must have fucked a lot of people to manage that

Harris wasn't the least popular candidate or the first to drop out and the Biden/Harris ticket beat Orange/Never ran for president team.

Tulsi is a coward. She voted 'present' during the impeachment. I mean, pick a side already.

Thats part of the problem. Everyone "picks a side" as opposed to supporting some kinds of principles.

I don't mean pick a side Republican or Democrat I mean pick a side should the President be impeached or not. Very important decision and Gabbard punted because she doesn't want to offend either the people who elected her or the wingnuts that fantasize about her.

Yes, Mnunchin was involved. He should have been speaking for the president, was he? He probably thought so at the time. However this is more than about treasury, it's foreign and domestic policy and provides and needs input from all parts of the executive branch.

The "Impeachment" thing was a major waste of time as there was zero chances of it succeeding and the whole Russia thing was as much B.S. as is the China stuff now.

I don’t really know. There’s money for small business, mass transit. I think more for healthcare corporations but that’s not a big portion and makes sense to incorporate to COVID relief.

B'loney. They hate her as DailyKos (hardly a right wing mouthpiece) noted in 2019:

In a bizarrely timed announcement, Democratic Rep. Tulsi Gabbard told CNN late on Friday that she was running for president in 2020, a move that was met with widespread derision.

Among other things, progressives quickly noted that Gabbard has cozied up to Syrian dictator Bashar al-Assad on a secret trip to Syria two years ago; has cultivated violent Hindu nationalists in India; spent years as a virulent anti-gay activist, even when she served in the Hawaii legislature; was one of the first (and only) Democrats to meet with Donald Trump after he won in 2016; refused to sign a letter from 169 House Democrats denouncing Trump for appointing white nationalist Steve Bannon to a White House job; carried water for Republican megadonor and casino magnate Sheldon Adelson by introducing a bill to outlaw online gambling; has refused to sign on to an assault weapons ban; attacked Barack Obama for refusing to use the phrase "radical Islamic terrorism"; is beloved by conservatives; is beloved by top American Nazi Richard Spencer; is beloved by former KKK Grand Wizard David Duke; voted to make it all but impossible for Syrian refugees to settle in the U.S.; and told a reporter in 2016 that her "personal views" opposing abortion rights "haven't changed." Oh, and she once skipped a hearing on the VA crisis to shoot a surfing video with Yahoo News.

And the Hawaii Dems decided to toss her out by supporting another candidate back in 2019.

A trio of former Hawaii governors have backed Kahele’s bid to unseat Gabbard, and she ignited a feud with Sen. Mazie Hirono after authoring an op-ed in January accusing Democrats on the Senate Judiciary Committee of “religious bigotry” in their questioning of a nominee for a district judgeship.
