well---THAT is historical, at least as far as bibilical history is concerned---HOWEVER----the idea that arabs are DESCENDED from that ISHMAEL is kinda ---

the issue is the "arabs descended from ISHMAEL" According to the bible---

"arabs" that came to be muslims were illiterate until about 200 AD when
arabic finally got an alphabet (thanks to zoroastrians) I do not believe
