[Yano, there's a valid reason those median incomes in Newtown were so darn high, at $110,000 per year, so way far above the average Americans. Its because the people that live in Newtown are smart. Smarter than the average American and light years smarter than the average Democrat. They are readily able to ferret out the fundamental truths of a situation, come to grips with it, arrive at a logical solution, and make their peace.

It never really was about the safety of the kiddies with the Libs, it was always about getting rid of the guns in American's hands. The Liberals know that the common ordinary citizens gun possession was always a huge impediment to their plans, and they've been longing and pining away here ever since Leon Trotsky and Vladimir Lenin were leading the peasant mobs in their acts of smashing down the barricaded doors of the Russian Duma to pick up their cudgels themselves here and install their own Socialist Workers Paradise over the howls and protests of their countrymen. And when Newtown happened, they thought that they had their chance, their golden moment, at last. And what better time and place to have it happen than under the benevolent dictatorship of Barack Hussein Obama, the man who when he spoke, women experienced orgasms and men had erections they could polish for weeks and months afterwards, eg the media, making smooth their way?

After this little local news tidbit from groundzero, every Liberal who let loose with a torrent of invective or a stream of cursewords at NRA President Wayne LaPierre for suggesting an armed security presence in the schools should be made to wear their genitalia stapled to their lips, at least for a couple days. Who can blame the Liberals though with Rahm's words echoing through their minds "Never let a legitimate crisis go to waste!" and the Liberals desperation to install their Communist Dictatorship.]

"Several residents thanked the board for its inspiring leadership and providing police protection at the schools.

They said they recognized the need to included funds for these officers in the school and town budgets and asked the board to detail the number of safety resource officers as it compiles the final budget.

Carla Barzetti, Beaver Dam Road, told the board of her background as a pilot and compared the tragedy in Sandy Hook to that of 9/11.

She noted that no one understood the need for secured cockpit doors on airplanes before that event and no one knew the need for armed security at schools before December 14, 2012.

Ms. Barzetti added that security measures would allow teachers and students to focus on their work, just as the air marshals on a plane allow her to focus on her job.

Amy Roman, Taunton Hill Road, said she was happy to hear that all school principals support the presence of security personnel and offered her help to the board."

OMG are you saying this community recognized a need, decided on and provided for a solution, all without big brother, how could they? Maobama ain't gonna like that, he didn't get to write an executive order or nothin.

The American gun culture made armed security a necessary part of modern education. We wouldn't be facing the need to put good gunmen in our schools to kill the bad gunmen if the NRA hadn't made every mentally disturbed person want a gun and then rigged the laws so he was almost assured of being able to get one.

Explain how the NRA made every mentally disturbed person want a gun? This should be really interesting.

Watch out Joe! A nutter thinks he's caught you overstating your case. You'd better be prepared to support your claim. Nutters have no tolerance for hyperbole, donchya know?!

.

Okay, so he's a Fascist Socialist Communist Marxist Leninist Muslim Kenyan Dictator.

Is there room on his business card?

Who has the final decision on presidential stationery, I'll bet there's a House committee for that stuff.

They probably get a great deal at Staples or Vista Print or a place like that.

Since the '70s he NRA has been attempting to increase gun sales with a propaganda campaign aimed at low-effort thinkers. As a consequence of their glorification of guns and killing, the unstable consider gun murder a viable solution to their problems.

Really, can you provide some examples of this 40+ year propaganda campaign, you know like PSA's, TV adds, News paper adds because I don't recall ever seeing one. I have seen movies, TV shows and games that glorify the use of firearms, but nothing from the NRA. I'm sure such a well versed person as yourself has multitudes of evidence at the ready, so I'll be patiently waiting to see it.

Does "multitude" require a plural form?

I think it's optional. I see your holding your breath to see how this one will turn out. If he's like most he will fold like a cheap suit and just vanish. That's what most lefties do when they are confronted with direct questions or they try to deflect and change the subject.

Don't be silly. I couldn't give a shit about your dopey question. Everyone knows that the NRA has worked to make weapons more accessible.....to sne people as well as insane people. The goal is gun, ammo and accessory sales. Period.

You can go on forever with Joe......and regrdless of his use of hyperbole.....you'll never be on the right side of this issue.

I keep seeing that claim, but where is the evidence. I mean if there has been a concerted propaganda campaign for more than 40 years, there has to be some concrete evidence. Just advocating for the 2nd Amendment and the rights of Americans to protect themselves which is done mostly by lobbying efforts is not a propaganda campaign. And no reasonable person would consider training firearms instructors and developing firearms safety courses would constitute a propaganda campaign, so where is the propaganda? The only thing I've ever received from the NRA, is an occasional letter soliciting membership, is that propaganda.

BTW I am not now or have I ever been a member of the NRA, they have shown a willingness to compromise at times that I have disagreed with. I do support the 2nd Amendment foundation and Gun Owners of America, but only financially, I'm not a member.

Like everywhere else in America, that depends on who you ask.

Wait no more:

Over the next two decades things changed. From 1970 to 1989, twenty-five articles adhering to the collective right view were published (nothing unusual there), but so were twenty-seven articles endorsing the individual right model.[27] However, at least sixteen of these articles almost sixty percent were written by lawyers who had been directly employed by or represented the NRA or other gun rights organizations...

OH THE HORROR! Some lawyers wrote some articles that actually agreed with Justice Joseph Story who wrote this just a few years after the 2nd Amendment was ratified.

"The right of the citizens to keep and bear arms has justly been considered, as the palladium of the liberties of a republic; since it offers a strong moral check against the usurpation and arbitrary power of rulers; and will generally, even if these are successful in the first instance, enable the people to resist and triumph over them."

Amendment II: Joseph Story, Commentaries on the Constitution 3:§§ 1890--91

But I'm still waiting for evidence of this propaganda campaign, I don't think a few articles written by lawyers that the general population has never seen would qualify. Care to try again?

Your reference to Justice Joseph Story is irrelevant.

That might have been the case until the early 1990s but then the internet happened; or, at least, much, much wider access to the internet happened. Law review articles were widely discussed on local BBSs and on USENET. I spent quite a bit of time on talk.politics.guns and recall seeing postings by Don B. Kates, Clayton Cramer and other luminaries of the gun cult's propaganda effort. Discussion became even more widespread as website discussion forums became more popular as USENET et. al. faded. The effect of all that can be seen in the diminishing support for gun control reported by polls beginning in the mid-90s.

The number supporting stricter laws has been gradually declining over the last 20 years. When Gallup first asked the question in 1990, 78 percent favored stricter laws. That was down to 60 percent in 1999, 54 percent in 2004 and 44 percent in 2009 and 2010.

Support for Gun Control Has Dropped in Recent Years
