No they do not count them the same way, a covid death is any death where the person was covid positive whether covid caused the death or not. A flu death is caused by the flu, a heart death is caused by heart failure, a cancer death is caused by cancer, only covid is counted differently, and you fricken well know that.
You have no clue what you are talking about. If someone with COPD gets the flu and that causes their COPD to go into overdrive and it kills them it is counted as a flu death just as it would be with COVID. Same goes if the flu causes someone to get pneumonia and the pneumonia kills them, it is counted as a flu death. If a Type-1 diabetic gets the flu and the flu causes them to go into DKA it is counted as a flu death.
My step father died of heart failure, which was caused by 2/3 of his internal organs being infested with cancer. Is that a cancer death or a heart failure death?
