It’s time we make Twitter and Facebook public utilities!

I would hope when this happens that lawmakers don’t fold to succumb to their terms and conditions. Let free speech rein!
Facebook and Twitter don’t worry you will still make money allowing your sites become public utilities we can all express our political feelings. let’s get it done!

Or

You can create your own social media site or promote this site if you feel Twatter and Farsebook are not allowing you to express your opinion...
I already created my own space on their platform.. I’ll make them pay

I never discuss politics on farsebook and I use Twatter for porn surfing.

I come here to discuss my political leanings and maybe you should invite your friends and enemies to join this forum...

A free market solution already exists, but that’s too hard for the statists so they go rushing to the government instead.

Factually false
of course.

Hardly. You’re free to start your own social media platform if you feel you’re being treated so bitterly unfair. It should be an overnight success, but that takes loads of capital, work, and risk that you’re not simply willing to do. That’s why you need big daddy gobmint to step in.

That is the issue with many people and they want corporations to be ran according to their way of thinking and when not they go crying to big brother.

Why don’t these people promote sites like this instead?

We are far too small and they believe they are entitled to Twitter and FB’s audiences. This about punishing companies they feel that don’t support them politically and nothing more.

Facebook and Twitter like to claim they are platforms for free speech yet they clearly don’t support all free speech so it is time for them to choose are they the platform they claim to be or a publisher. If they are a platform they don’t get to block stories and opinions they don’t agree with if they are a publisher they no longer get the protection of Section 230 they have got to have their cake and eat to long enough.

So if a private entity does something you disagree with, you want it confiscated? So you can express your feelings? Viva la Freedom!
The phone company is a private corporation...and a public utility.

How do you explain that?

The gas company, the power company and the cable companies are all private corporations too. They are also utilities that provide needed services to the people.

The Social Media Giants have a monopoly and they should be broken up.
This is why the Social Media Giants are fighting so hard to defeat President Trump.

That's not a bad idea.

Yes -
But it looks as if there are very few people here with the mental acumen to be able to comprehend that.

When they start doing it to people they support and agree with they will.

I understand the "story" just fine. The "story" is a load of excuses to justify political retribution. The sad thing is, you'll most likely get your way. Because, despite their hypocritical protests, Democrats actually agree with you. They love the idea of government cracking down on private businesses, regardless of the reason, and when the dust settles they'll be thrilled to vote for legislation that gives them more leverage over the media.
