LOL. The Dali Lama also said "If someone has a gun and is trying to kill you, it would be reasonable to shoot back with your own gun."

I've always had a great respect for the Buddhists, they're hardcore and they illustrate that sometimes you have no other option than to deal with a situation using hardcore violence. Those Buddhist monks think nothing of getting violent to deal with a situation.

Buddhists are a hoot. I grew up hearing how "peaceful" Buddhists were until I saw some video of rival monks beating the crap out of each other with sticks and rocks.
:poke::argue::death::meow:

Nuns can be violent also, some of them get off on committing random acts of violence. Some of the nuns I was taught by had a glint in their eyes, you could see they were enjoying it.

I think my love of riding crops was developed by those nuns, it affected me and I should thank them because I have a beautiful collection of riding crops most tipped with Moroccan leather :smoke:

Um but that's for another thread :eusa_whistle:

That must be a Catholic thing. But I will say one thing about the Catholics: Their Friday fish frys and spaghetti dinners are awesome.

All we get are some cookies after the sermon. If we're lucky, someone brings a cheese plate.

Yes and also Roman Catholic girls are the best, just look to me as a prime example :smoke:

Can you make good spaghetti? I might be a convert here.

I also went to Catholic schools. We used to get pierogies at the pot lucks. Tasty.

You might want to rethink your impression of just who Jesus is. He's not some hippy "prince of peace", read up on Revelations. Next time He comes this way isn't going to be very pretty.

That's all I'm going to say about that.

Yeah, Jesus is coming, and boy is He pissed!!

Anyone ever think that the reason that the Jesus of Revelation wouldn't be such a nice guy is because all the Christians bastardized and twisted His teachings to suit themselves rather than actually following what He laid down?

I think His Holiness the Dali Lama said it best when asked about Jesus.....

"I like your Christ very much. Your Christians, not so much, because they are so unlike your Christ."

LOL. The Dali Lama also said "If someone has a gun and is trying to kill you, it would be reasonable to shoot back with your own gun."

Thanks for the link, but you should have posted the whole quote and the context in which he said it, because although he said it would be reasonable to shoot back with your own gun, he also said to not kill the person, but rather to shoot to wound rather than kill.

From your link.......................

His message resonates in an era when schools must be on guard against violent acts by gun-toting students. Included in the audience were some 35 students from Thurston High School in Springfield, Ore., where Kip Kinkel went on a May 1998 rampage in which his parents and two students were killed and 24 other students were wounded.

Students, in a question-and-answer period, asked some hard questions.

One girl wanted to know how to react to a shooter who takes aim at a classmate.

The Dalai Lama said acts of violence should be remembered, and then forgiveness should be extended to the perpetrators.

But if someone has a gun and is trying to kill you, he said, it would be reasonable to shoot back with your own gun. Not at the head, where a fatal wound might result. But at some other body part, such as a leg.

"But if someone has a gun and is trying to kill you, he said, it would be reasonable to shoot back with your own gun. Not at the head, where a fatal wound might result. But at some other body part, such as a leg."

No if someone is trying to kill you you shoot to kill and thats centre mass shot upper torso. I'm a trained military sniper, I have posted about this before, but anyhow, you shoot to kill not to wound.

Jesus makes one a christian
Consider that this thanksgiving and before you keep voting republican....Jesus is what makes one christian! What did Jesus believe?
1. Compassion and love for your neighbor.
2. Hated the idea of war and believed one should turn the other cheek. Believe me, Jesus could have defended himself and could have easily asked his followers to do so also but asked them not to. He was a man of peace.
3. Believed that one should help everyone no matter if they committed a crime or was seen as scum by the rest of society.
4. Believed that you should break bread with your follow man.
5. Believed that you shouldn't judge unless you were pure. Meaning that humanity couldn't judge as we simply weren't God. God is the only one that can judge! Think of that the next time you're abusing or thinking about using Christianity to kill LBGT people. Jesus doesn't approve.
6. Thought money and people that thrive on it were less likely to enter heaven and that they should instead think of their follow man.

If you believe that killing other tribes, enslaving people, think I am wrong and pretty much being a dick then you believe in the old testament and aren't a christian.

Jesus came to earth to make up for all the nasty shit God did in the old testament and to tell his children to be kinder to each other. Don't be screaming how godly you're if you threaten to kill and beat people for choosing to live differently in life. You my friend supporting greed and so full of hate are probably the last thing Jesus wants to allow into the doors of heaven.

Who has advocated killing LGBT people?

They might need some mental health care in the "T" cases, but I don't recall anyone advocating killing them.

They don't do that in your state?

Down here, after we've shot all the lions in the can ranches, we run over with our weapons to the man ranches.

Yes I can, I especially make a good Spaghetti alla puttanesca, it's a Neapolitan dish involving tomatoes, capers, black olives and garlic.

I usually go full-retard when I make it: Petite diced tomatoes, tomato paste, tons of garlic, onions, oil, salt, crushed red pepper, green peppers, black olives mushrooms, either ground or whole Italian sausages, garlic bread, and a salad. or substitute some big fat shrimps instead of the Italian sausages.

Then I get stuck eating the stuff the rest of the week. Three days later it's 2:00 AM and I'm in the kitchen eating cold spaghetti for a snack.

this is funny....a guy who thinks religion is bullshit now telling us what Jesus is all about?....did the wind change direction again matt?....

Like the member above said...I like your jesus very much, your christians not so much. Consider that for a second.
lets consider how you say one thing one week and something else the next week.....you are not very consistent with many topics matt....like i said before, you go whichever way the wind is blowing...

One can hate Trumpers and religious fundies for their hatred of LGBT people and think the world of jesus. That hasn't changed! Religion just makes me fucking sick some times as the people that follow it use it to hurt people.

That sounds very good, but do you still have room for the spaghetti in there? :poke::funnyface:

The great thing about all pasta is that you can eat it cold also and you can eat it cold at all hours for several days.

Plenty of room for the spaghetti, but I usually use linguini. Of course that usually takes two large pots so there's always a bunch left over.

You shoot to stop the threat. Not to kill, but if the situation is dire enough to justify the use of deadly force, then killing is most likely going to be the result of successfully shooting to stop the threat. You certainly do not “shoot to wound”, for exactly the reasons that have already been stated.

If, by chance, you manage to wound the assailant sufficiently to stop the threat, without actually killing him, then at that point, you would not be justified in continuing to shoot him.

But I could conceivably kick him in the head a couple times if I wanted to couldn't I? Just to make sure he stays down, I mean.

Jesus left Chicago and he's bound for New Orleans.
That makes sense for him to head to N'orleans since he was North African.
Facetious.....

Christianity was made into an organized religion and therefore this does not apply anymore. Jesus would not be associated w/ any organized religion of today they are completely corrupt and were created w/ evil intent

.Wow..It is not hard to tell which God you are serving and it happens to be Satan the God of this world. Be careful watch some testimonies of people going to hell.

So you are not a Christian then, just a Jesus person.
