Living The Life Under The New Covenant


Are you living your life under the Old Covenant or The New Covenant, or maybe you think you are still under both covenants. In Christ things change, in Christ you change, and so does your life. So, where are you at? Maybe you feel the best choice is a mixture of the two. The Bible is divided into two sections; The Old Testament is in the first section and The New Testament is in the last. In many places the old, for shadows; and predicts what is coming in the new.
Isaiah 53, tells us hundreds of years ahead of time what Jesus is all about. While you need to read the whole chapter, let us just take a look at verses 4 and 5 as follows. Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted. But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.
When Jesus came and stood up to read in the synagogue on the sabbath day he said in
Luke 4:18,19, The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor, he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised, To preach the acceptable year of the Lord.
Jesus said you shall know the truth, and the truth shall set you free. From darkness to light, because the word reveals who you are when Jesus comes into your heart. He alone is the light of the world. Under the old, you will hope that your good deeds will out way your sin, and you may then go to heaven. Under the old, only the prophets heard the voice of God and under the new, all Born Again Christians can hear the voice of God. Jesus said in John 10: 27-29, My sheep hear my voice and I know them, and they follow me; And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand. My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father’s hand. Do these words imply that one can fall away? Do we believe the clarity of the words of Jesus, or man’s? Many believe a perverted gospel and not the true, and were not really Born Again in the first place.
