why would he? the fact he ignored obama wasn’t know then. It’s been exposed nowOr why Trump didn't outright fire him.

Isn't it a weird coincidence that Democrats hate shale oil and natural gas so much... and the majority of America's reservoirs are in Republican states?
Read my post #32.
1. Fau-Chi started the research under Obama, the bat research went on since 2008.
2. Trump ended it.

Trump didn't restart the Wuhan funding, it was funded since 2008,
No one apparently noticed it. Not Obama and not Trump.
That's part of the game Fau-Chi plays. Changing definitions over time. The good news is that there usually is a paper trail.None of which is actually gain of function research.

The Wuhan Lab funding was NOT an official line in the Trump or Obama Budget. That's the problem.Well he restarted it being an official line in the budget.
Yet oddly enough early in the thread you were more than happy enough to blame Obama personally. I guess it is now progress that you have moved on from that
On March 28, 2022, President Biden submitted to Congress his FY 2023 Budget request encompassing all Federal agencies - including a proposed budget of approximately $62.5 billion for the NIH. The overall request includes discretionary budget authority of $49.04 billion, of which $1.09 billion is associated with 21st Century Cures Act allocations, $83 million is for Superfund research activities, and $5.0 billion is for the new Advanced Research Project Agency for Health (ARPA-H). The NIH request total also includes $12.05 billion for Pandemic Preparedness and slightly over $141 million for special type 1 Diabetes research identified as mandatory resources, plus Program Evaluation financing of $1.27 billion. |

Fau-Chi, as Director of the NIH gets about $60b a year to spend. The Wuhan Lab GOF bat virus research was about $300,000 a year as part of a $6m grant to Eco-Health. No one from any admin had access to Fau-Chi's research books, or if they did, didn't notice or understand what it meant.

I don't recall blaming Obama for anything. I blame Fau-Chi for killing 5m people thru his negligence.
Actually it never stopped since 2008.Bush started it. Trump did stop it after he restarted it.
The GOF funding was never actually paused...Fau-Chi ignored the "pause"...NIH Lifts Funding Pause on Gain-of-Function Research
Official funding release.
Since no one takes you seriously, it's a wash. It's really hard to take anything that Jim Jordan says or does seriously because he failed to protect his students from sexual abuse, which was his responsibility both morally, and legally. So for him to talk like his wants and wishes outweigh those of the experts, simply because he was elected and they weren't, it beyond ridiculous.
Neither Jim Jordan, nor the people who elected him know the first thing about public health or how to prevent the spread of infectious diseases. His notion that his or their wishes in the handling of the pandemic should have more weight than the guy who has lived his life dealing with pandemics and how to control them, is beyond ridiculous.
Last but not least, the countries who listened to the "experts" like Dr. Faucci, had substantially lower rates of disease, death, and economic displacement, than the USA.

"EcoHealth Alliance has received NIH funding for this work since 2008, amounting to $5.96 million over 12 years, according to NIH data. That work has helped "develop predictive models of global 'hot spots' for the future emergence of bat viruses" and used its "large repository of bat biological samples to conduct targeted surveillance in these 'hot spots' for known and undiscovered bat pathogens," according to the group."
Do you believe that any President researches every line item in every budget?Lets pretend that the redstate story is actually true and that it was going on without Obama knowing about it.
Why did the Trump admin start openly funding it again in 2017?
Do you believe that any President researches every line item in every budget?
And, what does that look like?Nope but the president has to be the one to lift paused funding by a previous president.
And, what does that look like?
No, I mean was that action a stand alone proclamation, or tucked away in a 3,000 page bill?A failure?
