He isn't upset because he is a control freak. He is upset because these brave men & women responded, without hesitation, to a disaster. And now they have to fight to get help fighting the cancer that their response got them. He is upset because he has had good friends die because of the slow response to their health issues. More than 150 first responders have died from the illnesses from their rushing in to help. Of the 72,000 people enrolled in the James Zadroga 9/11 Health and Compensation Act, over 8,000 have cancer. And cancer is expensive to treat, only many levels.

The James Zadroga 9/11 Health and Compensation Act was passed in 2010. It took 9 years to get the funding passed. They tried in 2006, but the bill was defeated.

In February of 2019 it was determined that there was not enough money in the fund. They cut pending claims by 50% and new claims by 70%. THAT is why Jon Stewart is pissed off. And we should be pissed off too.
