Judge Approves Trump's 'Special Master' Request

A federal judge has granted a request by former President Donald Trump’s legal team to appoint a special master to review documents seized by the FBI during a search of his Florida home last month.

WASHINGTON (AP) — A federal judge on Monday granted a request by former President Donald Trump’s legal team to appoint a special master to review documents seized by the FBI during a search of his Florida home last month.

The decision by U.S. District Judge Aileen Cannon came despite the objections of the Justice Department, which said an outside legal expert was not necessary in part because officials had already completed their review of potentially privileged documents. The judge had previously signaled her inclination to approve a special master, asking a department lawyer during arguments this month, “What is the harm?”

The appointment may slow the pace of the department's investigation into the presence of top-secret information at Mar-a-Lago, but it is unlikely to affect any investigative decisions or the ultimate outcome of the probe.

JUDGE GREEN-LIGHTS TRUMP’S ‘SPECIAL MASTER’ REQUEST

Not a surprise from a Trump-appointed judge. However, this won't affect the final outcome. What do you think?
The FBI’s case is so strong they need to leak lies about what they found. Which includes Melania’s top secret panties and top secret books from Barnes and Noble friends gave her.

Actually this benefits the warranted, appropriate investigation of Trump, and further exposes the lie that Trump some sort of ‘victim’ of the government.

Not sure what it does now that the DOJ has already looked at everything other than ensure nothing new will come out till after the mid-terms, which I guess is good.
There is no argument on the top secret, secret, confidential and any marked classified communication or document is the federal government's and NOT any Attorney Client privileged material that the special master will be looking for....

The National Security part and counter intelligence part of this investigation should move forward and not be stalled at all, imo and others I've heard on talk news....?

Appeal! The only reason for the motion is to delay the process. There’s nothing a special master would add to the proceedings.
Delay ,delay , delay. We got tramp's no. a long long time ago.

I am uncertain that attorney/client take the back seat you state

There's that, but mainly that the Special Master will only get what the DNC/DOJ/FBI chooses to show them.

Holding material back would make it hard to use it at trial, but since there is not going to be a trial, that's not relevant.

Of course the fascist commies on the Left didn't consider it a surprise that the justice dept. shopped getting the warrant to a judge who's made derogatory comments about Trump in the past.

It will likely put the call to violence on hold.

This investigation was getting in the way of the coming election and was hugely important to the election results. Now at least the law will have a difficult time keeping the issue in the news.

However, we should expect that there will be blowback announced on where the missing documents went. That will be justifiable on the FBI's either legitimate or feigned concerns of US national security.

There's still the question of whether this judge's damage control came soon enough, and whether the majority of the American people will accept the risk of not proceeding immediately on the issue of the missing documents.

Maybe now we'll get to the bottom of Trump's explanations, in chronological order:

1. There's nothing there!
2. The FBI planted them!
3. If only you had asked!
4. They're mine!
5. I declassified them!
6. They were for my library!
I can't wait for McCain to run again. We love our Mavericks.
