The healthcare bill would have gotten rid of the 0.9% medicare surcharge that currently exists. That means it would go bankrupt even sooner than is now predicted. Also the bill would have led to poor people being kicked off medicaid.

Worth noting that Ryan did not want to be the Speaker. He very reluctantly agreed to it.
