Judge Merchan's Letter to Trump Trial Lawyers Raises Eyebrows

Doesn't matter. A mistrial is declared while the trial is still in process. And the judge sends the jury home.
The trial is over. Conviction handed down. Sentencing 7/11. Appeals process to be followed now.
Maybe get an accelerated appeal. But this doesn't look like anything that would affect trial.
Some asshole makes a post and you and the faithful swallow it hook, line, and sinker? :)
The case can’t be appealed until after it’s over. It’s not over til July, where based on this, should toss the case

What did the Judge do exactly? Notify people of things that aren't clear?
1. It's clear it was posted on two different dates way before the verdict was rendered

Judge Juan Merchan said the comment was left on a Facebook post by the New York court system on May 29—one day before Trump’s conviction—and stated, “My cousin is a juror and says Trump is getting convicted.”

The comment was made on a May 21 post from the system’s Facebook page, Merchan said in his letter, though the post referenced by Merchan no longer showed a comment from Anderson as of Friday evening.

2. It's clear that it is a violation

"If the post were accurate—which is unclear—it would be a violation of rules barring jurors from sharing information about their role or the trial with people outside the court until the trial is over."

Let's get this straight: "It is unclear if" this Anderson "is related to one of the 12 jurors who served on Trump's case", and it's unclear "if the comment was posted online prior to the former president's conviction on May 30."

Yet, "Several Trump supporters suggested on social media that the comment was grounds for a mistrial."

Wow! So Magadonain-Americans believe things that aren't clear are grounds for mistrials?

Okay.
Um yes.

Well, this is interesting.

If true, it should lead to a mistrial. Merchan took it seriously enough to give a heads-up to both sides.

Or is there something else out here and this is the old three card monte at work?

Questions have surfaced regarding the jury in former President Donald Trump's New York City hush money trial after the presiding judge flagged a post to social media alleging that a juror had spoken about Trump's verdict before it was handed down.
According to New York State Supreme Court Justice Juan Merchan's letter, which was sent to Trump lawyer Todd Blanche and Manhattan District Attorney Prosecutor Joshua Steinglass, a comment was left on the New York State Unified Court System's Facebook page by a user under the name "Michael Anderson," who wrote, "My cousin is a juror and says Tump is getting convicted. Thank you folks for all your hard work!!!!"
The comment was in response to a post by the court on May 29, a day before the former president was convicted of 34 felony counts in connection to hush money paid to adult-film actress Stormy Daniels during Trump's 2016 presidential campaign. Merchan wrote that as of Friday, Anderson's comment was "labeled as one week old."
It is unclear if Anderson is related to one of the 12 jurors who served on Trump's case, or if the comment was posted online prior to the former president's conviction on May 30. Several Trump supporters suggested on social media that the comment was grounds for a mistrial.

Sure sounds like a set up, by this person, PRETENDING to be a cousin of a jurist.

No cousin would post that and knowingly get his cousin in trouble, and a mistrial for Trump.

Just like the Trumper that hacked a closed Facebook account of the judge's daughter and posted a derogatory post of Trump behind bars pic, whle pretending to be his daughter. Then passed it to all the right winger media outlets. Heard around the world! In minutes!

You Trumpers have a lot of scum among you!

Honey again, this is all politics. The entire trial was politics. There was no substance to it.

Welcome to YOUR OWN GAME

Don't cry about it now

About 2/3 the way down.

FB has since pulled it down.

there better be an investigation already in the works,,
There won't be. Not a real one, anyway.

It'll go like this:

Investigator: "Now, you guys DIDN'T discuss the trial before deliberation, right?"

Jurors: "Oh no. If course not"

Investigator: "investigation closed"

It'll be a joke. If a juror gets charged with first degree misconduct, he might start throwing people under the bus.
