Most of these Confederate statues went up back before 1920, and now that they are part of the background and have been here many years before the protesters, I think the protesters need to pay for the removal of whatever being fair and honest. CSA was not engaged in mass extermination of blacks. Slavery yes and that was wrong. And the numbers you cite take in most of the rest of world that dealt in slave trade. Not just the US. Just so you know there slavery was legal in most if not all the original 13 colonies for many years until after independence from the British.
