Kerry: Putin is going to lose

This is one case that could back fire on us. Russia could very well declare war on the United states and once that occurs China could also attack japan, Taiwan or maybe join Russia against the united states. This is exactly how the major wars of the 20th century started.

Russia isn't Syria, Iraq, Afifuckistan or even Iran. Their air force is capable of defending the air space(dog fights) and their navy even through not capable to ours but are capable of full on sea battles.

Not to even get into the reality of their missile and bombers being capable of hitting the us. Realize Russia is the country we're relying to carry us into space.

We're either all in or we're all out. Thinking like this can't happen is a mistake.

It would have already went down that way during the cold war if it was going to.

Make no mistake, after we made Iraq (#4 military in the world) into a useless pile of rubble, no one wants to mess with the US. People can make fun of Obama all they want - US would destroy Russia, and everyone else.

It won't happen, though - Putan is too smart to ever try - big muscles or no.

Just like Iran and Syria and the punk Karzai are folding to the demands of the boy king...

Exactly! Iran signs a nuclear pact with Obama and Syria is forced to destroy it's chemical weapons facilities. Thank you. Karzai is next after Putin.
Syria still has its chemical weapons, and Iran is still purifying Uranium to weapons grade.

Nice fail however. haven't seen someone go down in flames like that in a while.

Economic growth in transitional economies is a fragile matter: all factors may promote growth in a country, which may help to normalize the budgetary process, cut inflation, increase consumption and attract more investment. However, if the nature of the effect of external factors suddenly changes, the growth of export markets slows down, the cost of imported energy resources (most importantly, oil) dramatically increases, while the pressure of populists on the budget grows, thereby sparking inflation. A growth in wages starts overtaking labor productivity, thus provoking a decline in profitability and competitiveness of products. Ukraine has found itself exactly in such a situation – and just before elections. More importantly, there has also recently emerged the problem of price hikes on gas that Ukraine buys from Russia. This is a difficult situation even for the political elite of a country that enjoys a very stable democracy and government. In the meantime, in Ukraine there are three leading parties with an electoral ceiling of about 15 to 20 percent each, plus many small parties, lots of interests, and regional imbalance (the politically influential Western Ukraine economically depends on the Eastern industrial areas). Given these factors, the politicization of these issues is inevitable, not to mention increased attention on the part of the media and various interested groups.

 Meant to include this with the above post:

The parties finally realized the absurdity and hopelessness of such developments and reached a compromise. Importantly, this was not a zero-sum game – many parties have gained. However, in this case there are two monopolies involved – gas and gas transit – and there could not be an easy solution to the problem. (Russia, for its part, has a monopoly on the transit of Central Asian gas.) Ukraine and Russia have found a level of understanding in the new agreement, and the monopolies are not paralyzing each other and not infringing on the interests of third parties. The drama at the beginning of the year would not have occurred had the parties earlier realized the inevitability and normalcy of changes in this area.

Those stats are useless without defining what the poverty level is and what it means. I'm pretty sure I'd rather be poor here than in Russia. Ukraine is in trouble, which is why this mess started.

Being hungry is the same all over the world. Although it might be a little harder being hungry in the middle of a bakery than in the middle of nowhere.

Kerry declared Putin will come out of this ordeal the loser. “He’s going to lose on the international stage, Russia is going to lose, the Russian people are going to lose, and he’s going to lose all of the glow that came out of the Olympics, his $60 billion extravaganza.”

Ya, I'm sure President Putin's reeling from things Kerry said. Must make his life not seem worth living anymore.

Kerry's a dork. Always put your money on the guys who go around with their shirts off. :)

Reality:

Obama just stole most of the Ukraine out from under Putin's nose.

It's very likely that before this is over, Russia will lose it's only warm water sea port.

Along with that Russia will no longer be able to support the Assad regime in Syria.

Russia will not invade the rest of the Ukraine. If they did, NATO will strongly reinforce the eastern most NATO members and re start the cold war. Russia will also have to fight against a NATO backed guerrilla force in the western Ukraine.

If Russia keeps Crimea, they lose the political majority in the Ukraine and soon they will have NATO on their doorstep.

The best that Russia can do is to leave Crimea and hope to retain some political power in the Ukraine, but that's doubtful - once they've been faced down the pro-western Ukrainians will win the majority of elections. Maybe they can divide the Ukraine in two, but that's doubtful.

In short, Obama is kicking Putin's ass.
Obama's Ukrainian allies include:

"The All-Ukrainian Union 'Svoboda' (Ukrainian: Всеукраїнське об’єднання «Свобода», Vseukrayinske obyednannia 'Svoboda'), translated as Freedom, is a Ukrainian nationalist political party,[2] and currently one of the five major parties of the country.[9]

"Five members of the party hold positions in Ukraine's government.

"The party was founded in 1991 as the Social-National Party of Ukraine (Ukrainian: Соціал-національна партія України), a reference to National Socialism.[10][11] Today Svoboda acts as a populist proponent of nationalism and anti-communism.

"It is positioned on the right of the Ukrainian political spectrum,[12][2][13][14][15] and has also been described as far-right,[16][4][17][18] fascistic or anti-semitic.[19][20][21][22][23][24][25][26]"

If Obama's theft of Ukraine starts the Second Cold War, how will that benefit anyone other than arms makers and undertakers?

Why Putin should have Georgia on his mind - World Israel News | Haaretz
Even if Putin takes the soil- and resource-rich areas of the east away from Kiev, Russia has apparently still lost Kiev. Last week, the EU was still promising it would wait to sign new agreements with Kiev until after the elections in Ukraine. But yesterday a source in Brussels told Haaretz how they were “keeping an open mind” about the possibility of closer ties even before the elections, which the new government in Kiev wants badly.

Moreover, by sending troops to Crimea, Putin has shown his hand. Brussels is already preparing for the next confrontation with the Kremlin, with pacts of closer cooperation between the EU and Russia’s neighbors Moldova and Georgia – which the EU official said be signed by August at the latest.

Once again Putin has made obama and his administration look like the incompetent boobs that they are.

Its a sad day for the USA when fools like these are running foreign policy.

The markets are punishing Russia more swiftly than diplomats ever could ? Quartz
Strongly worded statements, threats of travel restrictions, and summit no-shows. So far, these are the relatively mild diplomatic implications for Russia of its incursion into Ukraine, as few in the West can stomach an open military confrontation with Moscow over its apparent occupation of Crimea.

But the markets are punishing Russia much more swiftly than the diplomats. A wide range of Russian assets—stocks, bonds, and the ruble—plunged in value today. To shore up the ruble, which is plumbing record depths, Russia’s central bank unexpectedly hiked interest rates today. It ratcheted up the benchmark one-week rate from 5.5% to 7%, and traders report that the central bank has also been spending billions of dollars in currency markets to stem the fall in the value of the ruble.

Not a bad 'photoshop' job.
It's obviously time for Bobo to use his 'go-to' weapon of choice: His internationally deeply feared 'RED LINE ON WHEELS'!!!!!!!!!!!!!
He's not going to do SFA and Putin and the entire diplomatic world knows it.
There are literally huge pipe lines moving everything from shoulder fired missiles to cases of dammy running to and from China, Iran, Syria in and out of Russia. And no one is paying any attention to Bobo. Every world diplomate also knows this.
What 'The Pickle Lady's Lap Poodle' says on MTP is a fucking joke.
Oh the irony. The two biggest phony 'posers' Obama and Kerry, attempting to play checkers with Putin who craps bigger than these two combined while playing three dimension chess.
I hear Kerry has threatened Putin. Kerry says unless Putin withdraws from the Ukraine Kerry is going to stop sending Putin those free cases of 'Stale-dated' Heinz pickles.

I hope Obama steps onto the lawn today and gives a speech and a speech that lets everyone unequivocally know that the Congress needs to pass bills to raise the minimum wage, enact immigration reform, and other priorities of the American people. Do we care about Ukraine? Sure we do but it is time for the world to work as a team. This not America's time to lead. This is the EU's, and NATO's, and the E-8's (E-7's) time to lead. We did our part and we will continue to do our part and we are the greatest country in the world but we are also not the only country in the world. Those who keep trying to tell us we are only weaken us. Right now Putin is acting like Russia is the only country in the world and it will weaken him too.
