Americans experienced the freedom of individuals for nearly 200 years. When that freedom is threatened and being chipped away there is a resistance building up against that institution what threatens individual freedom. When national cohesion is destroyed by multiculturalism, suppression of freedom of speech by political correctness (e.g. you cannot criticize a woman without being labeled as misogynist, you cannot criticize a black person without being labeled as racist, you cannot disapprove homosexuality without being labeled as homophobic and bigoted) and attacks on freedom of religious beliefs targeting Christianity but holding Judaism and Islam as taboo then you have movements such as the Tea Party.
