I watch a lot of things to see what the big deal is/was. Now I know...and its trash. It is also teaching our youth to be self absorbed,entitled,materialistic,attention seeking brats.

I think that if kids are learning anything from TV, it's because of the lack of other factors in their lives.

You know, the TV has this thing called an "on and off" switch. You can actually turn it off if you don't like what's on there. And if you are a parent, you can turn it off if you think it's giving a bad message to kids.

My favorite was Big Brother, where CBS let the racism and references to pornography fly and just said, Tsk, tsk. But we'll still air it.

Course I'm still a child inside and I know when something is wrong when I see it. I was going to say that the freaks in the 80s put these shame, but what they show on TV these days wouldn't pass for fertilizer back in the 80s.

If you are talking about dramas and comedies, frankly, the storytelling on TV has probably improved over the 1980's.

Now, yeah, I think Reality TV is crap. but you know what, it's economical crap. You don't need to hire writers or actors. You just take 12 folks, film them, and then edit it down. As long as people keep watching, they'll keep making it.

And I was talking about the commercials as well. Watch MTV or Comedy Central and you'll know what I'm talking about.

I used to sit up all night and watch music videos on Friday night. When they changed over to reality programming MTV went to shit.

All awards shows have been getting consistently poor ratings. MTV had its lowest ratings last year. Their response is to become even more outrageous thinking that will help. It isn't. I never watch award shows. There is too much available and if it's not available right then, it's available on demand.

I feel really sorry for Miley Cyrus. She's in the last stages of drug addiction, the manic phase. She'll be in Sunset Plaza before too long.

Admittably, my music tastes pretty much stopped developing in the 1980's... I don't listen to anything produced since then.

But frankly, just don't see what LadyMudSlinger is freaking out about.

There is some excellent music being produced in America today, it is not what you hear on the radio though.
