Lesbian Mayor Trying to CENSOR Pastors' Sermons

Another example of militant, atheist queers attacking Christianity. This woman has no respect for the religious protection from government clearly stated in our Constitution. She feels the separation of church and state is one-sided in favor of the state. And she's demanding pastors and ministers stop saying anything that conflicts with her own sick view of sexuality and morality....read it for yourself....this is what the "progressives" have in store for us all. This isn't New York or Massachusetts...this is HOUSTON! :eusa_snooty:

City of Houston demands pastors turn over sermons Fox News

This thread is another example of "Christian" hypocrisy -- you homophobic hater "Christian" know nothing of Christ or his teachings.

These homophobic "pastors" go around spewing filth over their "flocks" and ramp up the hate and fear within the individuals. It's human nature to be fearful of the other or someone different than you -- throughout history religious leaders have played on that fear of the other to ramp fear and keep devoted followers dropping $$ in the basket.
Do you support the pastors 1st amendment right to preach the Gospel without interference from the government?

So you agree that calling it "The Bathroom Bill" is utter hogwash then?

It's no more hogwash than homosexuals conjuring up the name "gay" to describe themselves or liberals conjuring up the name "Star Wars" to describe Reagan's anti-satellite programs or liberals conjuring up the name "Civil Rights" to describe a set of laws focused on stripping people of their human rights.

Cool deflections. None of that changes the fact that Starnes' article is inaccurate. "The Bathroom Bill" that doesn't doesn't even address bathrooms in the bill. Starnes is playing fast and loose with the facts. This isn't about left vs.right, or D vs. R. It's about honesty and integrity.
You're right, allowing teenage boys into the girl's showers was cut from the Bill, but don't you find it disturbing it once was?

I did which is why I was very wary of the language concerning the ordinance and I was glad to learn of its removal.

NEW RULE: anybody with a swinging dick, regardless if you think you're a girl, that is caught in the girl's shower room will be charged with a sex crime and be forced to register with local authorities yearly until your death.

This is a pretty alarming overreach by the government. I imagine a motion to squash these subpoenas is the making and will be successful.

You really should find out what is really happening instead of just believing the cap you hear on fox. They exaggerate and lie as standard practice. Churches are limited in the political activities they can participate in, and the subpoenas are a result that the churches started. If you sue someone, they have the right to subpoena information relevant to join the proceedings.

Attorney General Greg Abbott Asks Houston City Attorney to Withdraw Subpoenas Seeking Sermons...

Texas Attorney General Greg Abbott ^

Attorney General Abbott today asked that the Houston City Attorney to immediately withdraw the subpoenas sent last month to several Houston-area pastors seeking sermons, notes and other information. In his letter to the city attorney, Attorney General Abbott said, “Whether you intend it to be so or not, your action is a direct assault on the religious liberty guaranteed by the First Amendment. The people of Houston and their religious leaders must be absolutely secure in the knowledge that their religious affairs are beyond the reach of the government.” Mr. David Feldman City Attorney City of Houston...

I can understand why you say that, but fox lied to you about what the ordinance actually was.

Nonsense. You didn't read your own link very well. The churches didn't sue anybody. You should take your own advice re finding out what is really happening.

As for pastors organizing, nobody seemed to have a problem with pastors advocating political action over issues in the past; the Civil Rights and Voting Rights movement come to mind, just for starters, and nobody seems concerned about churches like the Metropolitan Church advocating for Gay Rights and Gay Marriage, nor with such 'luminaries' as the Rev. Al Sharpton, the Rev. Jesse Jackson, the Rev. Jeremiah Wright, or any of the other churches and their pastors throughout the country who engage in political advocacy, but suddenly PC Nazis are all about 'separation of church and state' and 'tax exempt status', but only for select pastors and churches. Hypocrites and liars.

And, churches are not in the least limited in political activities that deal with their theological issues, like baby killing and homosexual privilege legislation, and are free to urge their congregations to sign petitions re those issues.

Let us see after a search of the ACLU websites, they do not seem to be mobilizing to come to defense of these churches.

The ACLU has always been fine with churches being involved in politics, just as long as they're involved in the politics they endorse and advocate.

It is a war, lawyers, government workers, and politicians again those who want freedom.

I bet in her eyes, we are all guilt of hate crimes.

she is a danger to freedom

There isn't a single case of churches being prosecuted for political advocacy for or against social issues of any kind in the entire history of the United States. Churches have been at the forefront of political organizing throughout American history, from the abolition movement to civil rights, or any other social issue, nor has the IRS ever filed any case questioning the tax exempt status of a church for any such activities, either. That's because they aren't violating any laws by doing so.

Speaking is not discrimination. Unless she can show they are refusing to let gays in the door she can go fuck herself.

We wouldn't have a country if pastors weren't allow to talk revolution. Would you gag MLK preaching about civil rights?
