My nurse friend in New York said the hospitals marked all Covid19 patients as Do Not Resusciatate, because of the lack of PPE's. It wasn't worth the risk to hospital staff.

They are also shorts of assay for testing. Of the 300 labs in NY that is big problem.
Let me back up a little bit.



JUST AN ADD ON .....
Assay is a liquid reagents. Diagnostic Instruments (DI) will not just analyze the specimen like saliva, blood, sperm etc etc etc without the reagents. Each test requires specific reagents, most DI manufacturers wants you to use their own reagents. You use my DI use my liquid. A lot of DI manufacturers share the same reagents but use different names.

DI (small) that Trump displayed at one of his CV briefing only for specific CV (5 minutes) testing are made by Abbott (southern Ca). Specimen (saliva) placed to a cuvette + reagents added manually. Dilutions (mixing) by vibrations.

how do you verify the DI will spit out the right reading? Another separate medical products called controls & calibrator will be used depending how many times (volumes) a hospitals (very long to explain) will use to the DI. Normally by quarter when ship day we called it blood day. They have to go out refrigerated and by early as it can the next day.

When you are hospitalized most or all the doctor will order a panel called Comprehensive Metabolic Panel which requires 4 or 5 of 5ml test tube of blood drawn by a phlebotomist from your arm. Drug addict arm veins are very hard so they draw from the leg or thighs or wherever. Obese patients are also difficult to draw blood.

CMPanel.... sugar, creatinine( kidney), sodium, potassium, chloride, urea nitrogen, calcium, bilirubin, total protein, ast, alt, albumin. and so on. Lipid panel is separate.

Each of those parameters require a specific reagents and drops of blood. Kind of DI is normally about 5 feet wide x 3+ feet deep x 2+ feet high. Inside has refrigeration system to keep the different kinds of reagents in a vials (size 2“+ inches tall x 1.5” dia. ) fresh with very special rubber caps and needle piercings specifically from Germany. They have facilities in Allentown, Pa... Vials ( 25 or more) are kept inside the DI in a carousels that rotates depending what parameters you are testing. Mixing by spinning ( belts) of the test tube. CMPanel depending how sophisticated the DI it will take no more than 2 hours or depending how busy are the labs. It used to be 8+ hours.


I made it as easy as I can how/when a specimens and DI process when they draw blood from you. DI cost about $40k+ but most offered free, get even with the consumables and service contracts. Questions are welcome.
