Lets get this straight

Nope. The GOP tried to defund all of ObamaCare in the budgets they kept submitting. Don't be trying to revise recent history. Some of us have longer memories than you goldfish.

Your topic is therefore based on an entirely false premise, and thus fails.
Wrong
From your link:

Cantor said Friday the House would consider a one-year debt ceiling measure next week that contains other conservative-backed proposals, expected to include postponing implementation of Obamacare

That is ALL of ObamaCare. Not just the employer mandate.

Yes, what the republicans offered is exactly what obama is doing today. Delaying the whole thing, because even he realizes that its not working and will never work without major changes.

Seriously?

Word on the street is that it's Bush's fault. ...

Nope. Except by way of doing nothing about rising health care costs for working Americans, thus abdicating the issue to the Democrats. And so in that way, he allowed ObamaCare, and ultimately universal health care, to be inevitable.

He did manage to create his own trillion dollar medical entitlement program, though. And he went further than Obama in that he did not even attempt to pay for it. Obama really is Bush Lite.

That's why I say Democrats are tax and spend while Republicans are borrow and spend.

Bullshit----healthcare is costing americans more today that before obamacare. Is your head totally up your ass?

Threads with titles like "Let's get this straight" from a Conservative always prove that Conservatives are entirely wrong.

And the worst/funniest/saddest part of it is that Conservatives will never admit how wrong they are. That's why they're Conservatives. They don't know how to change. They simply refuse to learn.

The Teabaggers shut down the government. Everyone knows that. A few Conservative simpletons on an internet forum aren't going to change that fact.

It is not a revelation that if you turn a problem over to Democrats they will make it worse.

The GOP had a chance to do something, and chose not to, despite it being very clear what the Democrats would do when they got the chance. So we were sold down the river on health care by the GOP. This is where YOUR head is up your ass. Your willful blindness to this fact.

Now the Democrats are doing exactly what they said they would do. And now Captain Renault is shocked, shocked to find they have mucked things up even more.

Yes, KNB - there's definitely only one side to the story. The Republicans - in fact - are evil (all of them), and the Democrats - despite associating with most of the same rich donors and special interests - are the heroes and here to save the day from the villains. Everything is black and white.

Don't be so naive, dude. Perhaps it was the case that individuals wanted to shut down the government to make a point that the legislation being passed was so absolutely horrible and crony that people aught to know about it.

You realize that in 2008 Big Pharma donated $13mm to Democratic Congresspeople/Senators? Do you realize this was just about the same amount they donated to Republicans? You think those companies like to just give away money for fun? You don't find it at all odd that Obama let these companies write GIANT portions of the new healthcare law? You don't think they're going to (perhaps) rig things just a little bit?

There was no healthcare crisis in the USA. No one was being denied medical treatment in the USA. Illegals were being treated free. Poor people were being treated free.

There was NO CRISIS.

There were some problems
1. huge malpractice awards
2. multi year drug patents
3. expensive, unnecessary defensive medicine
4. no coverage for pre-existing conditions
5. lifetime maximums in policies.

ACA did nothing about 1, 2, or 3. It did fix 4 and 5.

It is terrible legislation passed in the most corrupt way. Repeal is the only real fix, but there is no one in DC with the guts to make that happen.

Healthcare cost have been continually rising regardless of who is in the White House.

The gop shut down the govt. The gop lost, and that's why Boehner is trying to pass a clean debt resolution.

Cruz led you guys down the primrose path by trying to PREVENT obamacare from beginning, when in reality the gop needs to get out of the way of the trainwreck.

But, the gop's problem is that Americans will want SOMETHING. It may not be Obamacare, but there's not going back all the way.
Oh look...bentdog didn't get it.......

hey, Goebbels, revise history some more. No potus ever accepted defunding one program, esp his signature program, to fund the rest of the govt.

Lie all you want, but people got it, and the gop took it up the azz. the sooner you IDIOTS leave the party, the sooner we can win again.

Obamacare just failing and flailing wildly on its own.

And the people will cry out for single payer.

ask the brits and canadians about that. then ask them why privatized medicine is growing rapidly in those countries.

you silly libs think that single payer means FREE. you are so fricken stupid that you think the govt just has tons of money sitting around and can pay for anything.

the govt has one source of money-----------US, you and me.

Come on man. Yes, costs have been rising but this year millions of Americans saw some of the largest jumps in premiums in the past 10 years (myself included).

And how is Obamacare supposed to reduce costs? It's the exact same system - insurance - only now the companies must take on pre-existing conditions (which obviously drastically will raise costs). I'm not trying to be a jerk, I actually don't understand - economically speaking - how Obamacare is supposed to reduce costs.

It must be weird living in that head of yours, what with it crowded with so many strawmen you have built.

because he wanted to shut down the government solely to blame Republicans for shutting down government.

And the people will cry out for single payer.

That was the original intention.

That has always been the ultimate goal, and the far left wing telegraphed it quite clearly for decades. Which makes the GOP's betrayal all that much more treacherous.

Well, Reagan's approach would have been to get as many people as possible into private markets, but people have to have money to get into markets. That is essentially the GOP's conundrum. They couldn't solve it, so we're left with ..... Obama's and Nancy's Excellent Adventure

You buy your home insurance in the private market, don't you? You buy your life insurance in the private market, don't you? You buy your auto insurance in the private market, don't you?

And it's cheap! And we have lots and lots and lots of companies to choose from!

We should be buying our health insurance the same way we buy our auto, home, and life insurance. Across state lines from any company in America, choosing for ourselves what options we do or don't want. We should not be forced into a take-it-or-leave-it single company option from our employer in a pool constricted by the size of our employer. And the government should not be a market player who gets to write the rules for its competitors, tying their hands, while it gets to play across all state lines and set the market rates!

This is an entirely bogus set-up.
