Liberals and Democrats... a simple question for you.

NOT to diminish breast cancer.., when is there going to be a prostate cancer awareness month, week or day ??

It is the job of the HoR to put forward the will of their constituents.. and funny that after Obamalamacare was passed, there was a drastic shift to representatives that were against Obamacare and vowing to get rid of it in any way possible... it is not the job of the HoR to just cave to the senate and executive because another party controls them

You got it passed without a single republican vote.. now try and fund it without one

Ok, but he asked why the Dems wont negotiate. I laid out the reasons and you respond with why the Repubs SHOULDNT negotiate. You cant negotiate from a position of weakness. They have no leverage

It is not a position of weakness.... actually, it is a position of strength for the conservative members of the HoR... and the HoR did negotiate away from bills and proposals that were calling for MORE cuts... the Senate and the idiot president are the ones who want it all without negotiation

UP IS DOWN!! LEFT IS RIGHT!!

Seriously, you cant argue with these types

Because ACA has been debated over and over. Repubs lost everytime and everytime they lose they say "Why wont you compromise with us? You're mean!"

Its like the winning Football team agreeing to change the score to a tie because the losers are whining about it.

Yes, it passed without any "help" from the Republicans. Now why is that? Could it be because the Republicans said from the get-go that they would do everything in their power to stop Health Care reform?

Something else passed without a single vote from "the other side"...now what was that. :eusa_think: Oh yeah, the Bush tax cuts....passed by reconciliation and with Darth Cheney as the tie breaker...imagine that!

Now imagine for a moment that it is 2006 and Nancy Pelosi is Speaker of the House. She decides to put forth a budget that ends the Bush tax cuts for the richest one percent and says she will shut down the government if the Senate doesn't pass her bill.

How fast would the GOP and all the RW nutters here be calling for her head one wonders?

You Win! Take this Rep!

Democrats hold 2/3's and Republican's hold 1/3. There is a reason the HoR are elected every two years and the Senate every six years.

If I were leading the Democrats I would wish it to be shutdown right up to the election. I'd give the Tea Party their wish.

And the REPs hold more elected positions..

The reason why the HoR is 2 years is so that the populace has a more immediate recourse to bad legislation.. that the will of the constituency be heard in government more frequently.. not because the HoR is supposed to be some lesser part of the legislative branch and not because it is supposed to cave to the other parts of government

The elections in the HoR swinging that hard to the REPs after Obamacare was passed should actually tell you something

Party over principle...the GOP way.

There were a lot of close votes in the history of the Congress. Should parties just force the bills to be re-legislated because the current make up of congress is different now?

That is how the DEMs are playing.. party over principle.. they did not care about compromise with the REPs before..

Bills or laws should continually be revisited.. as long as they fit within the constitution.. national speed limit laws have changed how many times?? EPA regulations change constantly.. but suddenly, the progressive wants to stop change???

No, it's what the GOP is doing; quite clearly as well. Can't wait til they lose and have to explain why they put so many through so much hardship for nothing.

As for "change"...whatever. When "change" means abolition, it's not change sweetie.
